RE: front door

I carefully installed some window tint material on my door to solve the sun problem. It also made it so people could not see in my home from the door. Now I do not feel like I live in a fish bowl.

This cure was way cheaper than a new door.

Looks great you did a fantastic job. Where did you get those windows? Was the trim on the outside one piece attached already to the window? I need to look into them. Got a brand name? Thanks.

RE: Chattel home loans?

Hopefully people will think forward before they need a loan. If you clean up your credit/credit cards/auto loans and any other financial situations you will get a much better rate on loans. I am not saying that everything has to be paid off just all in order with no blemishes on your credit if possi...

Did you check the power supplied to the unit? Fuses and breaker ? If it spins freely it is more than likely a power problem. Also make sure your thermostat is set for A/C use. Next does the compressor kick in when the fan is not running? Is the outdoor units contactor/starter pulling in? Check for 2...

RE: condensor hums

I have had no luck with your model number. What is the brand? As far as replacement goes you will have to replace your inside coil and the outside unit at the same time. Almost all newer 13 SEER units require a new coil for them to work correctly. Now you can add a Expansion valve but you still will...

RE: New PEX Fittings, No Crimper Needed

I gave a class on Flair It fittings awhile back. They were very easy to use but are not intended to be placed behind a wall. I have used them in my home and they seem to hold up well.

More than likely the condenser fan motor is shot. It could also be a capacitor for the motor is also shot. Do you have the model number of the outside unit. If you feel up to it we do have motors available. The unit should have a disconnect outside for safety. You might consider having one of those ...

RE: retractable awnings

Sunsetter makes great awnings. I have a neighbor that has one. It is electric powered and like you said push a button and it opens. I think they are great. He got his on sale so I would wait till a sale is on. He saved about 350.00 by buying it on sale.

RE: range exhaust fan replacement

I took my old range hood which was supposed to look like Stainless steel and primed and painted it. I used a very small roller and it has a very nice textured finish. Looks great. I had the same problem of not being able to find a replacement so the paint job worked great. I also used a large piece ...

RE: How to cut granite

I have had some luck using a regular circle saw. You HAVE to put the blade on BACKWARDS to make a smooth cut and also to prevent chipping. You will need a very fine cut diamond blade and a water hose. I usually clamp the stone to the old picnic table outside and have a helper flow the water while I ...

RE: Is the Rustique vinyl skirting kit anygood?

Cut stump level with ground. Drill a bunch of holes with a wood paddle bit. Put rock salt in holes. The stumps should not grow but will eventually rot out over time. BTW make sure you put some holes on the outside of the skirt area so you can put more salt in as the rain dissolves it into the old st...

RE: Condensation drip

Sounds like your coil is mounted above the blower. If that is true you have a suck thru system instead of the standard blow thru. That means you are sucking the air across the coil. Normally this is not recommended since the blower and heating elements are below the A/C coil and water can and will d...

Usually this pipe will have a metal collar where it makes the penetration at the ceiling. You can cut a circle out of a metal piece then cut it in half. This will allow you to install it without removing the pipe. I would like to see a picture if you can post one. What ever you end up doing do not u...

Also check for 24 volts at the transformer. If you have 24 volts there you might check the low voltage wiring. It sounds like the A/C fan relay might be bad. One last thing. There is a high limit control in the furnace that has a red push button. Turn off the power and push the red button in the cen...
