RE: Source For HVAC Diverter Valves

South Greenville county, out in what's left of the 'country'.

If the economy turns around (it never will return to pre-1913 prosperity), this area will become a little Atlanta. Not good.

I will at that point, move to a more rural county.

RE: Source For HVAC Diverter Valves

I am looking for a source, a manufacturer of home or M.H. HVAC ducting and/or accessories. I want to study diverter design and how it is made before I buy. It could be used for either site built home or a M.H.. I bought some diverters years ago from an HVAC installer. I used them to balance flow in ...

Follow-Up To StickDown Floor Tile

There was a long thread on flooring back in April, 2008. (The thread is locked. I guess that means no more posts allowed.) http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2581&start=15&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= In that thread I stated I would follow-up on any problems wit...

Source For HVAC Diverter Valves

I did a Yahoo search for diverters and could only find industrial ones.

Since this forum specialises in HVAC, could you point me to some sources for duct diverter valves? Company names or manufacturers?

The function of the diverter valve is to reduce or shut off air flow in an HVAC duct.

Thank you.

RE: cost for electric for doublewide mobile home

Life Without A/C In The South: This year, I decided to go without using the A/C in either of my homes. The Upcountry of S.C. does get up into the 90's and sometimes 100. I'm at about 1,000 above sea level. Both homes are equipped with wells and are both all electric. My electric bill has been from ...

I do not care for the microwave emissions of a cellphone right next to ones brain.

If I ever own one again, it will be the type that has head phones or earphones, something to keep the antenna away from the side of the head.

Also, for low usage, prepaid like TracPhone is the way to go, IMO.

RE: Close call, VERY lucky

No heat tape or much insulation around supply pipe necessary here in S.C.. I do plan on staying away from the that heat tape. As for summer in the South, doing something different this year: Life without A/C in the South. Though the A/C is working at both my homes, I've decided to acclimate to the h...

I am planning on installing a chimneyless propane gas log firebox/fireplace. There would be no loss of heat since there is no chimney. 30,000 - 35,000 BTU is not unusual for these type of gas logs. I'm hoping to find an off-season special on one. A friend of mine bought the gas logs, firebox and an ...

Had the same 'shake' problem when first moved in years ago. Never lived in a m.h. before. Wasn't expecting it. Solved the problem with some heavy deck wood (3) 2 X 8's and (1) 2 X 6, all 66 inches long. Used deck screws to fasten to the 3/4" thick plywood sub-floor. Left the vinyl flooring in p...

RE: Flooring question

Yanita,

I don't have those items readily available, but I'll see what I can find and post results.

Diane,

Your welcome. I'll be looking for your photos.

I'll post a couple of my kitchen and hallway done with the same Cryntel EuroStone.

Diane, Yanita, I found a 1500 Watt blow dryer, positioned it 1/4" above a scrap tile piece, turned it on high for five minutes with zero negative effect on the tile. No blistering, no discoloration, nothing. This even suprised me. I then put a puddle of petroleum based Goo-Gone on the surface f...

I don't want this post to turn political, and I may have to lock it if my comments start a political backlash. But I grew up on the school of hard knocks. I accepted charity from no one. I worked my way thru college. After college for several years I had less than 2 dimes to rub together. But I som...

Yanita,

Thanks again for the feedback and the perspective. No curling irons or blow driers in this m.h., LOL.

I'll scrounge up a blow drier and put a scrap piece of the tile to a test.

The tile may not do well with hair coloring, dyes, chemicals, etc.
