Re: Widening dorrways
The doors are not on either the outside wall or center load bearing wall. Both doors are on walls going across half of the house. I know I will have to move the light switches about 3" over to clear the new opening, but I don't think I will have to run new wiring for that little distance. I hope.

Replacing tub with a shower
I want to replace my tub shower combination with a walk in full size shower. The question I have is how hard is it to move the drain from the right side to the center. Lowe's have in stock shower surround combinations but only with the center drain. They want almost double the cost for a special ord...

RE: radiant heated floors
I was not planing on replacing the furnace with this heat, I was looking at warm floors in the winter. To have warm floors instead of cold, would cut down on heating because if my feet get cold I am cold.

radiant heated floors
I am looking at putting laminate floors in my house instead of the carpet and vinyl that I currently have. When I was at Home Depot looking at the different ones I noticed the under laminate radiant heating options that are out there. Can these be installed in a mobile home? Also is it better to get...

Puppy proofing under the house
I have a 6 month old puppy who is pushing my skirt out of the way to get around the fence poles. Is there any way of sealing the under side of the house so she can not get under it and around the fence? I have a vinyl skirt, which is required by the park. I have place landscaping ties, 2 stacked hig...

RE: Joining two bedrooms together
My son wants to turn the two rooms into one. He is 18 and he and his girlfriend live with me. They want to open it up so they have a sitting room and a bed room of their own. This would give them a little more privacy and me some of my own. By doing this way when they finally move out I can convert ...

RE: Joining two bedrooms together
Thanks for the quick reply from all. The marriage line wall is not being touched at all. It is the wall at the back of the closset that is. What I want to do is just cut the wall board off and frame it in like a door way. There may be one stud in that section closs to the the corner and I was just g...

RE: Joining two bedrooms together
The wall with the marriage line is not going to be touched. I was planning on just cutting the wall board off the back of the closset and frame it as a doorway. This would make the closset into a passway between the two rooms. All the original studs and framing would stay the same. I don't believe t...

Joining two bedrooms together
I want to join the front bedrooms together by cutting a passage through one of the clossets. I know the marriage wall is the wall with the closset opening in, but all I want to do is cut an opening in the wall board the same height as the closset door on the back side. This would open the two rooms ...

I have been wanting to do this same thing but I need a Right sided drain. I plan on changing my ful size tub into a full size shower this spring or summer. Dryer venting
I recently had my dryer vented through the floor into the area under the house because the vent in the side of the house was blocked by the dryer and would not vent. Do I need to have that vented to outside the skirting or is it alright to let the dryer vent just under the house.

Water line to a Swamp Cooler
I have a swamp cooler on my roof and the water supply line runs up the vent of the hot water heater and across the roof to the cooler. Is there a way of running it in the area between the ceiling and the roof? I live in Utah and I end up replacing it every year because the cold winters and the snow ...

Instalation in exterior walls
Hi, Here in Utah we have what is called Tri-County Weatherization that does repairs for low income or disabled. Well after 1 1/2 years on the list, it is finally my turn. They told me that sometimes they can shot spray insulation into the exterior walls on newer mobile homes. I own a 1995 Fleetwood ...
