Re: What color is your mobile home interior painted?

Make sure you prime first, then you can use what ever paint you want. I would recommend Zinsser 1-2-3, it has very good adhesion and hide so whatever pattern is on the paneling will not show through your top coat.

As for color, IMO beige and off white's always just look smoke stained and old to me.

Re: Rip out the garden tub?

Toughest part of removing mine was where they has screwed down the pump platform..., other than that it was a piece of cake, luckily I had a 30in. door on one side of the bathroom and to boot i actually sold mine on craigslist for some extra cash!! :D

Re: Tankless Hot water heaters

Are you thinking whole house? or point of use (a small one near each sink/shower, etc..) Whole house like JP said need a lot of electricity. Check this link out for one I considered at Menards. http://www.menards.com/main/store/20090519001/items/media/Plumbing/Rheem/Install_Instruct/TanklessElec_UC....

Re: Veneer cabinets

Prep Prep Prep...Like ponch said, photos would be helpful. Make sure to clean them with something like a TSP product to get all the grease and gunk off. You may need to sand depending on the veneer and glue down any spots that may be lifted or Use a wood filler to fill-in any areas that has chipped ...

Would definately second Lornes opinion on the wagner spray tex. Found here; http://www.homedepot.com/p/Wagner-Power-Tex-Texture-Sprayer-0520000/100625486#.Ua06buuZZiw I am currently using the wagner spray tex to apply an orange peel to my walls, still quite a bit of hide. The gun is great and has wo...

Re: can you paint vinyl siding ?

I sold paint for close to 6 years, so here is some advice to add what the others have been saying and what was always our top priority to inform guest of when they were going to try to paint vinyl siding. Do not choose a color darker than the original vinyl. Because dark colors absorb more heat from...

accessing my A-Coil, Colemen Evcon

So, maybe I am looking at this to hard - but I cannot seem to figure out how I can remove this panel to access and clean my A-coil. Can I cut it with tin snips, and then seal the cut with aluminum tape?

Re: Replacement tub/shower faucets

Menards has a few options for you. I was thinking about doing the same thing to my tub, but decided not to. They do make a round panel large enough to cover the 3 separate holes and convert to a single handle style. I couldnt find the link on their site, but here is what it looks like: http://www.fa...

Re: SprayPaint inside nasty shed?

Sorry, your title said 'spray paint' and I didn't read that you really meant a guntype sprayer...If your looking to spray I would stick to latex. Cleaning up oil-based is a painnn. You should call around and see about rental prices on sprayers. A contractor type will spray a heck of a lot smoother, ...

Re: SprayPaint inside nasty shed?

Your better off grabbing a gallon of rust-oleum and brushing it on. You will get a better coat and it will be cheaper in the long run. A rattle can will over cover a 3 x 5 area, those $4 cans add up. Do a little more work now and you can enjoy it for a long time.

Re: bringing down the kitchen!

Heres a couple more shots that show what a hindrance this overhead cabinet was. it closed off the kitchen and severely limited the use of the peninsula counter top space.

Re: bringing down the kitchen!

These overhead cabinets were solid oak! A little heavier than expected 8) We set up chairs on the counter to help hold it while i cut it from the ceiling, then removed the chairs to bring it down to the counter, and then somehow got it down to the floor without crushing our newly installed laminate ...

I was looking through photos and saw we had taken a bunch of this project. Figured I would share! We were not sure if we were going to remove it or not. But over the weekend I had hit my head on it several times, the third time was the last straw and made me reach for the recip saw  before ...

Re: 54 x 31 Tub Replacement Options

whatever you choose - make sure it will fit through the door! In our first bathroom remodel i was thinking of replacing the shower/tub combo because the tub is a shallow one and its an odd size likes yours. Then i took a look at how I would even get a new one in! The door to that bathroom is only a ...
