RE: 3400A816 furnace noise

Omigoodness, mine does the same thing. I call it a loud thunk.I assumed it was the door. At first i thought the blower was creating a vacuum, and releasing it when it turned off, but there is plenty of air getting in there, with the louvred top part, and around the door itself. I never think of chec...

RE: Cold Air!!!

You might want to go outside and check the flap inside the dryer vent, when it seems colder than usual. Mine will sometimes get stuck in the open position, maybe because it's damp and freezes open. It faces west, and blows into the dryer also. I also keep a heavy quilt over the dryer when it's not i...

RE: coleman furnace short cycles

Not that anybody asked me, but can I say what happened to me? When the repair guy replaced my blower assembly recently, the furnace also started having short cycles. My son had recently put a new t-stat on for me, so I assumed it was that. He reminded me that I'd been complaining that the new blower...

RE: You guys are fantastic!

Thank you Robert, for the input. For peace of mind, I ordered the new one. This old lady's blood pressure can't take the strain. Although I'm not thrilled with having to spend the money, on a new one, I must admit, the stress reduction is worth the price. I was making myself sick, obsessing about th...

You guys are fantastic!

First I'd like to thank Robert for answering my questions, with such patience. Guess what?? Repairman didn't know that the heating element from my Coleman 3400 is not available anymore. He hasn't had a call for one. He was impressed that I knew. I gave this site credit of course. For many reasons, h...

About Sequencer

When repair guy changed sequencer on coleman 3400A812 last month, he made a point of walking back into the room and offering to "get rid of that for you" Totally unnecessary and odd. Can a sequencer be refurbished, and resold? I'm asking because air coming up from register, is sometimes ho...

Coleman electric 3400A812.

Last Nov. the blower on my Coleman 3400A812 quit. The repairman installed a new (used) blower, and new sequencer. At the time I told him the air was blowing too hard from an end vent, and the air was cool. The blower was louder than my old one. He said it was a two speed as opposed to my old, one sp...

Air barely warm: Problem Solved

I have a twenty year old electric, Coleman Downflow Furnace. Model 3400A812 Two days ago the blower died. It was replaced. This one sounds very much louder than the old. The air coming from vents is barely warm compared to before the fix Three hours later: Problem solved. I deleted much of the post ...

RE: Giving up

Jim, I'm so sorry it's come to this. I understand well, the frustration you feel from bad neighbors. That is how my hubby and I came to buy this land and put our home on it. As hard as it is for me to maintain since he died, I don't want to leave, for the same reason you don't. My memories are here....

Finding a Plumber

I think I first posted about replacing my heater in Aug. Since then,I've been trying to get someone to just return phone calls. Either they never return phone call at all, or they chat with me, say they will look into the heater and never call back. I have a Rheem, 30 gal, electric. The only plumbin...

RE: Electric hot water heater replacement

Are there any safety issues in using one not labeled specifically for manufactured housing?
I'm having a devil of a time finding one to fit the alloted space.
Other issues also, but that's for 'off topic'.
