RE: Bowed wall panelling
Hi, Your first post speaks of one panel, then goes on to say you have noticed other panels as well. This is the reason I say your home may be out of level. Laying a level across the floor of your home doesn't not let you know your "home" is level. This must be done from under with a water ...

Hi Readysetgo! Sweetie, LOL, I sure did not intend to fire you up like that! But I completely understand what you are saying! We USED to have some friends that owned a doublewide, one of those huge ones, all the bells and whistles, well they got flooded and FEMA bought them a stick built home...

RE: Bowed wall panelling
Hi Tim, Welcome to the site. This is one of those wish you had completed your profile...then I would know where you live and if you are dealing with frost heaves. These panels are cut to fit, and typically do not bow unless the home is out of level enough to make them bow. In our first home we had o...

RE: getting started from scratch - putting home on basement!
Hi, Up North many mobiles are set on basements. BUT you need to go to a building inspector, who in turn sends you to an engineer, who sends you to the architect to get the plans drawn up. I know of 2 different mobiles in Vermont that are basements, but the homes had to be moved out, it required blas...

LOL, I really don't like to cook , but I love to stir the pot! Hate that "T" word huh, sooo don't I. We have one though, hubby pulls it behind the truck with the Harley on it! As for manufactured and mobile, they really mean the same thing. I live in a home! Friends, family and such refer ...

Manufactured home,Mobile Home or Trailer???
Hi Folks, Every now and again our beloved and original moderator "Tom" used to post this when things were slow. Well here it is today! It's sure to bring several comments. Sooo, what do you live in Manufactured, Mobile or a trailer? Does the word trailer irk your nerves? How about mobile? ...

RE: Kitchen backsplash ideas
Hi, Well if you ever do decide to add tile or any type of back splash that protrudes out from the wall it will need to be caulked at the top and bottom. Tile is fine and heat wont hurt it, if you have the exhaust fan running while cooking you should have no issues with moisture. Good luck. ~Yanita~

RE: Kitchen backsplash ideas
Hi, Like I said in a previous post, not sure how long these tiles will hold up over the long run. Anyways, just a thought, if these tiles have just a touch of black and some new black hardware for the cupboards you will have a whole new look! Another thought I had was I would think these tiles would...

RE: Complete remodel of bathroom
Hi Saxman, Lets see if I can help. It is always best to have your home releveled prior to any floor or wall replacement. If the water damage has gone under the exterior walls and your floors are anything other than plywood, then yes you should remove that as well. It is a real pita but worth the hea...

Hi, Activated charcoal will eliminate the smell that is in the air, but thats it. It will not get rid of the cause. Use the charcoal to make your home smell better BUT, use the Natures Miracle or the Husky 400 that Greg mentioned. I can not attest to the Husky 400, that might be in the dog section o...

RE: Newbie-Pony walls
Hi, Whew, glad we got that cleared up! OK, the sad thing is I have limited knowledge about a MODULAR home. This is mobile/manufactured home site. Your home is built like a traditional home. As for putting a basement under your home, again that would be determined by your building codes, you also liv...

RE: Newbie-Pony walls
Hi Stephanie, LOl, of course you are Welcome on this board...we just need to know exactly if your home is modular of mobile, there is a major difference between the 2. Mobile homes will NOT be brought in on a flat bed truck or trailer, it has a steel tongue on the front, that is the hitch, the truck...

Hi Dakota, Yup, use all the info you can get! We have plenty of it and happy to share it all! :D It really does not matter what order your questions are in as long as you have them written down. Personally I think getting the land first would be the way to go...this will give you even more time to r...

Hi, Were you physically present when this home was delivered. Was each section delivered on a trailer or was it being towed down the road? You would have to call your local codes office to find out what you need to do, all areas of the world have different rules on how things must be done. To get es...
