RE: lack of Humidity

LOL I knew you would ask me that. Unfortunately all I can tell you is what is on the label. I got it for free from a friends neighbour who was moving.

The label reads; Cat. # 71210A
120V 0.85A Has a CSA label.

RE: lack of Humidity

This is the first winter I have been using a portable humidifier and I find it does keep my 14x60 mobile at 40%. It is a Beaumark with 2 speeds and in colder weather I have to add 4L daily. It cycles on and off mostly just after the furnace shuts down and has a humidity switch which is a great featu...

RE: Independent Air Conditioners

My sister has one in a stick-built and is happy with it.

The only drawback I could see was they had to keep it near a window to connect the flexible pipes out through.

It creates a lot of moisture that has to be looked after. As far as I know she can use it to water her plants.

Re: Manitoba Bill

Let me make sure I got this right. Basically you removed the ceiling panels, nailed up 2 faced bubble foil and installed ceiling tiles over the foil is that correct? If It is that does sound a lot simpler. So no vapor barrier is needed with bubble foil? Thanks for your idea :) If you look at the lo...

RE: Question on my roof

When I was racking my brain on how to insulate my attic and have the Hydro Manitoba pay for the insulation I thought of one method. I had cut a 2' wide inspection hole on the very center of one 14' wide panel to see what I was up against. I drew up a graph of what size and thickness of batts I could...

RE: Property Tax in Tennessee

In my Municipality (read County), individual owners have to pay a flat tax of $35 a month regardless whether your mobile is worth $20,000 or $90,000.
We do not get any deduction from our ind. fed taxes like stick built owners.

RE: Insulating skirting

Not knowing where you live but up here I had installed insulation on my skirting but took it all off after I learned it did little good unless the crawl space was heated. I then installed it against the underside of the belly where it added to the ins. of my ducting and pipes. As long as the skirtin...

RE: Dirty Politics?

After our elections, signs have to be removed after a set time.

But heck, most of them are made of corrugated plastic. I grabbed some Coke signs from a gas station, painted them white and now use them to cover my solar collectors for the summer. LOL

RE: Filler UP !

Speaking of hay, Jan. 1 was the start of mandated ethanol @5% in all gas sold in Manitoba. So, when I filled up at a Safeway bar I asked the clerk if I now had some gasohol in my tank. Not a clue. 1-800 to Safeway in Denver, also no clue, even the local store mgr. did not know. 1-800 to Man. Gov't.,...

RE: Filler UP !

I just filled up and now that the loonie is near par with the U.S dollar it is easier to compare prices. It cost me $1.02 for a Litre. That compares to your price as 1.02X3.78L=$3.86. Sure wish I lived in Alberta, the oil boom capitol. Despite the $100 per barrel our prices have dropped about 5C a l...
