Re: 10-2 or 10-3 Wire for AC

Thanks for the post Rod. I'm currently in the process of getting quotes from licensed professionals. In an attempt to save money, I want to install breaker (I've done this before) and run the wire to location of unit. I've already installed the return air grill and duct-end-piece and the damper. I w...

10-2 or 10-3 Wire for AC

Installing an Intertherm AC-only package unit. The label on the unit says "MCA = 30A". Should I use 10-2 or 10-3 wire from circuit panel?

Proximity of Return Air Grill to Damper

It won't be long until I'm ready to have my self-contained AC condenser unit installed. I will install the return air grill in the floor and the damper underneath the main trunk. 1. The manual says to install the damper forward of center of the home. 2. I will minimize the supply and return duct lin...

Re: Mobile Home needs total overhaul...

Some things to think about... Does it have particle board flooring? It could potentially be a dangerous environment with small children. Do you work a regular job? Will your help, help you whenever you need them? Are the floor joist 16" oc or 24" oc? Does a heat pump or AC condenser come w...

Re: Carpet Vs Laminate in the Breakfast Area

They are paying. Give them what they want. I don't mean this in a smart-ass way either. Why do you want so badly for them to have laminate? Do they have pets? I agree with you in that food and drink spills wiould be easier to clean up after if the floor was laminate.

Re: The Particle Board is Gone!

Thanks DCDiva! The next step is to button up the outside panels and then COMPLETELY cut out and remove all insulation and belly wrap for a complete re-insulate. It's just too far gone to repair, plus critter dung and chunks of old particle board flooring. Then I'll run the PEX and reinsulate between...

Re: The Particle Board is Gone!

Thanks Greg! I slept great last night. Thanks Denise! Yes, it is rental property. The particle board had been patched MANY times, over time. It had been empty for 3-4 months. I advertised it as u-haul it off for $3500, but did not get any bites. I decided that potential income was sitting there, not...

The Particle Board is Gone!

The last piece of 3/4" tongue & groove plywood went in this afternoon. I have finally finished replacing every inch of particle board flooring in one of my trailers. I've had a little help about every other weekend. I still have quite a bit more to do to get the trailer ready to rent. If yo...

Question for Robert

Robert,

I got my furnace out today. I wanted to move my furnace a few feet. What is the flexible duct hanging in the pics below? Is it necessary? it was mounted on top in the back corner where the air filter would bottom out. Thanks in advance.

Re: Disconnect Furnace to Replace Particle Board Flooring

Robert, Here's the information you requested: Coleman Central Electric Furnace Code & Serial #: 088770860 Model #: 3400A816 Output: 54,000 BTU Volts/Hz/Phase : 240v/60Hz/1 I read the manual last night and it seems fairly straight forward. 1. Turn off breaker 2. Pull out the disconnect 3. Disconn...

Disconnect Furnace to Replace Particle Board Flooring

Does anyone have any tips on disconnecting a furnace (besides turning off the power) to remove particle board and replace with plywood flooring? I have the furnace manual, so that will assist in reinstall.

Need Help Choosing a Front Door

I need to purchase a new 34" x 76" out-swing, left-hinged front door. What are the doors you folks up north use. What are the pros and cons of having a window in this door? Can someone recommend a website with a quality product? Thanks, Keith.

Yes I have, but the installation cost would kill my budget. I'll panel those I've torn up removing and paint.

Trailer Remodel - Photo Album Link

Here is a link to a photo album I created. It shows all of the pictures I've taken thus far of my trailer remodel. I've been following a very aggressive schedule!
