My little rant
Today was supposed to be a very happy day. We paid off the cottage and it's ours without a mortgage. On the way to the bank to pick up the cashiers check in the safe deposit box, I was rear ended by an uninsured motorist. My SUV is screwed up and my back is screwed up. He then calls the company I wo...

RE: New Question
I think you do need to use moulding according to the directions. Which reminds me I need to buy some for that same application.

RE: LOg in all the time
I still also have to log in all the time. It's inconsistent though, sometimes I can go for a day and not log in and then it could be several times a day.

RE: want to move mobile home furnace to basement
My guess is that a mh furnace wouldn't work. I think there are special considerations and they probably wouldn't be big enough. I think I remember you wanted to have a separate apartment in the basement though? If you have a renter you'd probably want to have a separate furnace and meter so you coul...

RE: Junipers, landscaping plants
A good choice for the arbor plants might be morning glories. At least for the first season to see if you like the arbor where it is. Since you're in Michigan they'd be an annual and you can get the look of an arbor in bloom but not be tied to the plant. We had yews all around our home when we moved ...

RE: Garden tub
Have you considered having a regular tub? We found one at menards that we replaced the garden tub in the master bath with. It was harder to find as it was slightly shorter than the tubs at Lowe's. I feel like there's so much more room in the bathroom now. I don't miss the old tub at all and the new ...

RE: Power Washer Advice
Best power washer advise. ONLY plug it into a grounded outlet. My ex husband and I owned a Victorian home that was later "updated" by a crazed electrician. The outlet was supposedly grounded and it wasn't. He was electrocuted but lived to tell about it.

RE: On a basement and block foundation
If you put a basement under the entire structure, it becomes basically a regular house. It would be vented the same way as a normal home at that time. Are you putting windows and a door(s)? Our basement is vented through regular vents. We have a furnace that vents and will be putting in a second fir...

Maybe ours is more a mf home than most then. We added several more steel beams for the basement project and they're all welded together.

RE: Manufactured home,Mobile Home or Trailer???
People find it odd that we own a manufactured home and a stick built but we live in the mh. We have much MUCH more room here and we've upgraded everything to be as nice as any house around. I'm always a little confused as to what our mh really is. If it has a new roof, new walls, new floors, new win...

Disney World tips anyone?
I was granted an all expense 4 day three night trip to Disney world with my beautiful 15 year old daughter. I guess it's ALMOST all expenses paid. There is a dinner or banquet every night and we get 200.00 spending money for other meals. I've been looking at the websites and menus and holy smoley it...

RE: Manufactured home,Mobile Home or Trailer???
None of the above, I live in my home! :D I don't consider it any of the above anymore and neither do the neighbors except for one who keeps calling it "your trailer". It's nicer than all of the stickbuilts in our neighborhood now and more valuable or the same value. The newer neighbors had...

RE: getting started from scratch - putting home on basement!
Maureen brings up a great point about the water table. Had we had someone come out and check our land, we would have known about the high water table. There was a stream that ran through what is now the middle of our basement 60 years ago. My husband brings up a valid point as well. Without egress a...
