Re: 1988 Double wide - wall panel - wallpaper?
Thanks 1987 Commodore. I had the PC JR instead of the Commodore :-) Yes the panels are of some kind of flimsy wood substrate - looks like a wood panel but I'm sure it's just as thin as the manufacturer could get it. I'll take a sample to Home Depot off the wall as I just got my wallpaper samples and...

Re: dead bolts
After my home was broken into in 1989, I put dead bolts on my doors by first having a 8" X 8" 1/8 steel plate fashioned with 4 holes pre-drilled for bolts to go through and a large hole cut exactly the same size the lock needs. Then mounted it with fender bolts and painted it. Works very w...

1988 Double wide - wall panel - wallpaper?
Hi y'all -- Need to replace an inside wall panel - are these thin panels on the inside walls available at Home Depot; I just need a plain simple one as it will end up being wallpapered? Also would like to wallpaper the master bedroom - any ideas before I begin? Home Depot has got the pattern I want....

Re: Heater vents - tabs stretched out (opened)
Thanks Robert! This weekend is my birthday so my son is coming over to get under the house with me and look at this situation a WHOLE lot closer. I plan to slit the underbelly on one side of the house to: 1) expose one of the long horizontal runners (one runner a weekend....) 2) probably drop it / m...

Re: Heater vents - tabs stretched out (opened)
Thanks Greg - I'd much rather do it now than wait till it starts getting warmer and the spiders / snakes / possums and whatever else is under there start waking up. I like the cold weather but NOT in the house. Is this "heavier duct work" something that Home Depot sells? It seems the runne...

Heater vents - tabs stretched out (opened)
So.... sort of sick to my stomach. Just found out why it's so cold in the winter / hot in the summer and why the furnace bills / air conditioning costs have been so high. The horizontal runners that lead to the short 12" - 18" inch verticle runners that lead to the floor ducts in each room...

Re: Wife left me - heating / zoning question
I've got the t-stat as far down as it will go - internal thermometers indicate 50 degrees when i come home. I'll do the plastic on the windows AND I keep all doors closed..... why leave the vents open if the door is closed?.. Thanks for the kudos on the porch.... I also recently completed a huge two...

H'mmm... my double is the same way - blasted cats (They are constanly waking me up at 2-3 in the morning walking on the ducts and making it sound like somebody is breaking in - crunch crunch / creak creak)!! I was thinking taking the 2" Isocyonurate (spelling?...) found at Home Depot in 4 X 8 s...

Wife left me - heating / zoning question
Hello again gang!! Not going to bore you all with a long story, but the wife left me after trying to kill herself. You might remember I live in a 1982 24 X 55 double wide. She left me with $20,000.00 dollars of credit dept and I'm trying to save some money here... it's either doing this or sleeping ...
