RE: Mobile home water lines.

Hi dbstepp, welcome to the forum! I have to agree with Greg! The first step would be to take of all aerators and let the water flow for a good 20 minutes to clear the gunk out. This includes shower heads and all other faucets. Shower heads may need to be replaced! If there is too much gunk inside th...

RE: ??? "USED" TRAILER PRICE BOOK ???

Yep, NADA used to be a good reference for our homes Mark! I didn't mention it for the simple reason that the housing market is going crazy right now! Right now, so many people had ARM mortgages, got them in a nice stick built quick and easy, they're now drowning in debt! In my area, mobiles are stil...

RE: ??? "USED" TRAILER PRICE BOOK ???

Hi Dannybob, As far as I know, I've never seen anything similar to the Kelly Blue Book for our homes. Unlike the auto market, the housing market really varies around the country! Heck, it varies in my area dramatically in a 50 mile radius of me. Here's what I would do, either pick up your local news...

Hey Sylvia, The post is fine here! Congrats on getting the downstairs almost finished! How cool is that? Now, if you purchased comforter set at Goodwill, you have to know that the design is at least a few year old! You most likely aren't going to match anything perfectly. Try coordinating the sheets...

RE: HAHAHAHAHA - this is the laughter of insanity and plumbi

Hi cnb, welcome to the forum! Okay, exactly where is the leak? Is this the cold water intake up under the kitchen sink? That would be the cold water pipe that takes it up to the faucet. Or is the cold water side of the faucet leaking? Same with the washing machine. Is the leak at the shut off valve ...

Hi Jason, as everyone else has said, welcome to the forum! You'll find a wealth of information here on the site and in Mark's book! Make sure that you check out the articles link above! Good stuff can be found there also! From the photos, it looks like you have a lot of water damage! I'd pretty much...

I agree with Greg. It's a real shame that they've already spent that much, but the job needs to be dome correctly. Pex plumbing, new insulation down under, new sub floor and new flooring.

Their really aren't any short cuts for major water damage in our homes!

RE: Wanted: Pics of Cats & Homes

Hey Mark, Just got home from another Saturday wedding day! woo hoo! I'm a dog person, I don't have any photos of cats. I do have the neighbors cats over here all the time. If I get a some extra time, I'll try to snap a few photos of them to help ya out there! You know that I understand the spam prob...

LOL RSG! Now, remember, I'm laughing with you, not at you! I wasn't that smart! Yeah, I bought the old VHS recorder in 1982! It was top of the line back them. I decided then to create a Disney library for my oldest son, he's 34 now LOL! I kept that up through the 80's into the mid 90's. That include...

RE: Feral Cats

Hi JD, We've tried both your method and the other methods mentioned. We're mostly dog folks, but all animals are precious and we do our best. The feral cats around here can be divided into two categories. Those who were once pets, and those that are truly wild! Those that are true feral cats, our do...

Hi Pat, I'm hoping to have enough time between now and Christmas to haul out paint again LOL! That all depends on the wedding business. Once the boys ship out, I'm painting that bedroom and putting up shelves to hold their stuff, and mine! Most of the wedding stuff will finally leave my living room ...

RE: NEWBIE WITH SOME QUESTIONS

Hi Summer, Welcome to the forum! Greg brought up a good point! Any home can have mold if it hasn't been set up correctly, or water leaks have gone unchecked! This holds true for stick built homes as well as ours. You want to look for a good solid home that is level and in excellent condition. They a...

Hey Jim, I find that really amazing when I really think about it! I was a late born child to both of my parents, as they were also. In 1907, my mother's parents were discovering gold in Alaska! My Father's parents had just immigrated from Ireland 5 years earlier. My maternal grandmother gave birth t...

RE: Those mirrored walls

Hi Pat, yep, very nice idea! It looks great! I hear you about the mirrors! We had and still have them in a lot of rooms. In the 70's early 80's was the theme that mirrors made rooms look larger! So they covered walls in them everywhere! I removed the mirrors in the living room. They were mounted on 2...
