I have been getting a funky smell in the front part of the house the past couple of weeks. It is laminate flooring in that half. I have mopped the floors thinking that was it and the smell did not go away. I have a concrete brick foundation around the mobile home so I don`t think anything could have...

Changing Gas hot water heater to electric

Plumber is talking about changing existing gas water heater to electric. What do I need to do? Should I have an electrician come in and install a breaker in the box for the new electric hot water heater? My box supports 200 A max so that should be enough? I would much rather have electric water heat...

Re: Sealed Combustion Hot Water Heater

Well, the plumber who was going to give me the estimate never called me back for a price so my guess is he does not want to fool with it. I guess i will have to call someone else.
I have to deal now with insurance company as part of the roof blew off during the storm.

Sealed Combustion Hot Water Heater

I just had a plumber come out to give an estimate about replacing the hot water heater that is in the closet inside a bedroom in a 1994 Champion doublewide. He said that currently the heater that is there is the wrong one, it was replaced before I did not live here then. I will need a sealed combust...

Re: outward opening door

Greg,

Thanks, beautiful dog. But I have cats. As you know they are not good security, so need something else. Looking for some type of alarm to attach that will go off if door is opened and where to buy it.

Re: Special water heater for mobile home

Did you use one approved for a mobile home or just a regular one like for a house? I know lowes carries the ones for mobile homes.

What I noticed has been happening lately not all the time is that the furnace will come on for about 20 seconds and then shut off. It does not ignite just the furnace part kicks on. is this some kind of switch going bad?

Re: OSB board underneath porch

it was not done by a contractor I could not find one to do it. Maybe I can get it fixed in the spring.
If I have to get up there and do it myself I will. Its hard to get anyone to work on mobile homes.

I was looking at underneath the porch today and it looks like where they nailed through the metal on top through to the OSB board it has molded underneath. Almost...

Re: water leak from main line

No we own the land. I can not do this work myself. This leak is in the concrete pad where the water main comes up and meets the line coming into the house. Its like a well, it goes down about two feet into the pad and the plumber said there is a copper line down there that comes off the main that is...
