Re: Lawnmower maintenence 101....arrrgghhh!

Last year I replaced blades and belts,I didn't reset linkage adjustments to factory though, pretty much a mistake when replacing belts. When parking last Fall after the last use the upper drive belt twisted,so now I have to fix that and do the adjustment before I can feed those horses under the hood....

This link has a few tips for faucets. It might be best to have a pack of assorted faucet washers handy.

Re: Super Bowl 45

In which parallel dimension does the CHEESE slice the STEEL? It must have leaked into this universe last night, dang those rifts in the time/space continuum anyway. :?

Congrats Packers and fans, you did it.

Re: Super Bowl 45

Go STEELERS!!! Where's the party icon? Well, maybe this will do 8) :!: The Steelers have been my #2 favorite for decades. My #1(KC)did better than expected last season but the playoffs proved too much. I'm still living my same old 1/2-hermit life but might go to my son's for the Superbowl,my tv is a ...

Re: LPG tank gauge

The ones that I have seen are a magnetic float. The gauge is not directly connected to the float, it makes a magnetic connection through the gauge mounting. Greg My neighbor said something like that too,he was pretty unsure of exactly what they said, something about a "magnet and a circle or ri...

Re: LPG tank gauge

After a little more research--I've seen some floats and, since I learned the pressure in these tanks stays relatively stable unless near empty,it makes sense there would be a float inside to measure the liquid. A simple pressure gauge wouldn't change enough to measure liquid level until the LP was ne...

Re: LPG tank gauge

TY Robert. I'm not sure how often they would check it since I'm on "call-in order only" so I can buy when it suits me. I've never seen them check it but I don't really watch all that close when they fill my neighbor's.

LPG tank gauge

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this. My neighbor said to get an accurate reading on his 500gal tank his provider told him to "slam the cover(not too hard though)that will reset something in the tank". I thought the gauges were pressure. I can see where closing the lid hard might loosen ...

Re: Glass storm door FRAME only?

Tube, tube stock, maybe even some sort of line just so it isn't coiled, you need straight. Just try to match what is there for inside diameter where the rod/pin slides through, the outside diameter too so it fits and doesn't interfere, matching those should mean the wall thickness of the tube is right on...

Re: Glass storm door FRAME only?

Can you lift and hold the door to where you want it? Then measure the distance needed at each hinge for spacer tubes. Then take it apart and add spacer tubes cut to fit for length and sized to match the worn tube for inside and outside diameter. Not sure that would last another 19 years though! It w...

Re: Contractor "down payment" - Labor only

I find it amazing(or maybe odd)that during these tough times this contractor isn't chomping at the bit to get the work and willing to take 10% and draws(payments) as the work progresses. If you like him because he made a good impression I'd be leery,if you like him because he worked for and treated ...

Yep,poison makes them thirsty,he was probably eying Audie and wondering how his blood would taste right before the massive heart attack racked through his furry chest and dropped him like a rock. Now Audie, don't have nightmares of a vicious, vindictive, screaming little mouse with death in his eyes an...
