RE: Choosing Lawn Tractor
Thank you for responses. I've just started my quest. I promised my 20 year old Craftsman work horse to my son, and I want a smaller, and hopefully easier to maintain one for the half acre that I mow. I could do it with a walk-behind, but my old legs object to such things. My hubby used to mow down t...

Choosing Lawn Tractor
With all features equal on a 18hp lawn tractor, which engine is preferable, B&S, or Kohler?
Briggs is on a Craftsman. Kohler is on a Troy Bilt.
Any opinions?

RE: Installing Grab Bars?
My grab bar is at the entrance to tub, and is installed vertically, so we didn't need to span two studs.

RE: 2nd Return Air Vent
Robert, how does one find that information? Did I read in another post that you sell the booklets for certain furnaces?

Robert, you told me what I needed to know. Thank you. I would not cover the grille with anything. I want to cover only the bottom half. I did some sleuthing and realized that I wrongly stated that unfiltered air was getting in the furnace. You answered before I edited. The furnace is totally closed ...

Furnace Alcove
I guess this is considered decorating. :D The alcove that my electric furnace is in, has had no front for years. The furnace has it's own door, but basically it is exposed. Thing is, if there was a piece of wallboard there, it would have to be removed to take the door off the furnace to change the f...

RE: Pipe Over Electric Furnace
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/Barbara66/pipe2crop-1.jpg Robert, the pics on the link don't look familiar. There's a sign on the furnace that tells about Blended Air wiring, so I assume the furnace has it. There is no motor on the roof. My problem is, the diagrams on the link you gave don't...

Pipe Over Electric Furnace
Over my Coleman electric furnace, there was always an insulated 'pipe', It goes from the furnace to the ceiling. It seems to have no purpose. I never noticed what it was attached to on the old funace, and never contemplated it's use. When the new furnace was installed, the pipe just hung loosely fro...

Happiness Is!
A brand new, shiny clean, hot air producing, furnace :D It's so much nicer than the old 'heats when it feels like' one. Inside of door is totally insulated with thick padding, and seems heavier metal. It doesn't suck in and make that awful thumping noise when the blower stops. Blower is quieter also...

RE: 3400A816 furnace noise
Robert, I kind of figured that, when I remembered the inside of the metal door is partially lined with insulation. It's there for a reason.
I take no chances with safety.
Thank you.

RE: 3400A816 furnace noise
Robert, thank you so much for the idea of the wood door. :!: I am replacing my twenty year old Coleman 3400. Should be in next week If the new one does the same thing, I will definately try the wood. The furnace is in the hallway alcove, only 8 feet from my bedroom. It wakes me every time the furnac...
