Re: Looking ot add r38 or r30 to attic?anyone foreseen probl
Like Greg said you need ventilation. The insulation can not touch the bottom of the roof anywhere. Depending on your setup will depend on the best method to vent it. Another option depending on your setup is blown in insulation. I've used it about a dozen times in the past and really like the stuff,...

Re: fasteners for 1/4" drywall
1/4" drywall doesn't give a lot of support as you have found. But the best drywall anchors are one like this, http://www.amazon.com/TOGGLER-SNAPTOGGLE-Zinc-Plated-Channel-Fastener/dp/B00GVK3M1M/ref=sr_1_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1425050177&sr=1-3&keywords=toggler+anchor. Just drill a 1...

Re: Intalling exterior sconce at front door
I think I understand what you are saying now. They make remodel boxes for situations like this. Here is an example of some, https://www.google.com/search?q=remodel+electrical+box&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=643&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=geXtVM3MOsGLNr3AgPgM&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAg...

Re: Intalling exterior sconce at front door
What kind of box is there now? The light fixture should attach right to the box, so you shouldn't need moly bolts. The fixture needs to be over the box and the wire nuts splicing it to the feed wires need to be in the box. Without a picture it's hard to know what you have right now and be able to te...

I'm having a hard time picturing what you are saying. Can you post any pictures to help? The easiest way to post a picture is to use a photo site like photobucket.

Re: Drain pipe glue for cold weather
I hope you made sure to use a primer also before the glue. Ron Oatey recommends to NOT use any primer for ABS pipe. You can use a cleaner but NO primer on ABS pipe. I know this but you stated that you used mostly PVC. The red label "All Purpose" glue will work for both ABS and PVC. Yes I ...

Re: Drain pipe glue for cold weather
I have used the Oatey All Purpose Glue in similar conditions such as yours. I kept it inside and then used it ASAP and hit the joints with a heat lamp for a few minutes. I have not had any problems so hopefully you will not either. Also, I have used this same glue out of the work van when it got co...

Drain pipe glue for cold weather
Figure I would start a post so it may help others in the future. I had some frozen drain pipes to repair for a lady in the park. She just bought her trailer this year, first year in a MH. It's right down around zero here this week. Someone had replumbed her shower a while ago and they didn't slope t...

Sounds like a bad switch. I would replace the switch and see if it still "trips".

Re: Water in "spurts"?
Since you state that it only happens in winter I would be leaning towards something freezing. Summer is fine, but last winter and this winter you have issues. You have to try and figure out where it is freezing. Do like Greg suggested and try to see if it's before the home or after. Narrow it down. ...

What state do you live in? I'm guessing by the humidity level this time of the year you are down south somewhere?

Re: Inspect Attic
When you did the roof would have been the perfect time to inspect the attic. Could have even pulled off a whole piece of sheathing to get a good look and replaced for a couple bucks. For the bathroom fans it's most likely what UmpJJ said. I just posted about this in another thread. The ceiling fans ...

Re: attic condensation,out of ideas
Another consideration is how the insulation is installed. What kind of insulation is it? Are there any spots that the insulation is touching the bottom of the roof? You need an air gap between the insulation and roof. There are lots of things that can cause moisture. How about your bath fan venting?...
