Re: Installing flourescent light

Do you have a multi-meter?? You will have to check voltage and ohm out wires at this point.. Greg, it's perfectly legal to feed circuits from the ceiling box by NEC. It's an older method of doing it in stick built houses. Usually only older electricians use this method. It all depends on the box fil...

Re: Installing flourescent light

Greg is correct. Most mobile homes are wired with the ceiling boxes as junction boxes. One wire feeds the light one continues to another and one probably goes to the switch that works the light. If this is true it WILL NOT be your color to color tap... Be careful if you decide to tackle this on your...

Re: Hi again everyone

This is just MY opinion...I'm a State Licensed electrician. You did the right thing calling a professional to do a job you are not comfortable with. Mr. Electric is well known professionals BUT like you found out VERY expensive. I personally don't like the compact switches and change them for standa...

Re: newbie with questions

Self tapping screws are mainly used for attaching something to metal. They dont work too well with wood. You may find some screws for metal roofing at Lowes that wont rust so quick. As for the odor..Good luck...Check your duct work. Remove a vent and use a digital camera to inspect it for critters o...

Re: Crossover duct

Thanks, that will help. I have another question, I have one bedroom in the back about 15-20 feet from the furnace. This room stays very cold in the summer and hot in the winter. Is there anyway to balance the air flow any better or is that just the nature of the mobile home duct work? Anyone else ha...

Crossover duct

I need to replace my crossovet duct due to critters. I saw some felx duct with rubber coating for use in the elements. I was told it was a bad idea because it would hold condensation. Any thoughts or advice? I dont have room for metal duct. Home is too low.

Thanks, Carl
