Super Therm White Roof
Has anyone had any experience with Super Therm? I wonder how it compares to Henry's considering Henry's requires 3-5 coats to be effective? Here is a short video about Super Therm. The guy measures the heat using a special digital device before and after to show the results. Thoughts? http://www.you...

How does Roxul compare to the pink insulation when it comes to cost?
Thank you.

Electric soft starter for appliances
My mobile home is off grid, so we use solar and wind power for electricity. I've heard in the past of some device that you can plug a refrigerator into that prevents it from having a huge power surge when the compressor comes on. A friend of mine thought it might be called a soft starter, but I was ...

Prepping the house for paint
I'm thinking of getting some soapy water and a brush and cleaning parts of the outside of my home prior to panting. Then I would like to hose it down. Maybe I should use a power washer? What do you professionals suggest?
Thanks!
Thanks!

A plethora of flooring options
I would like to get some feedback on what kind of floor I should put in my mobile home. I will hire someone to do it, no matter what option I go with. So a DIY job is not an option for me. I was thinking of a vinyl floor that looks like ceramic tiles. Then someone mentioned to me that vinyl floors a...

Gorilla insulated skirting
I don't want to mess with frozen pipes in the middle of a Northern Utah winter. It sometimes will get -30 degrees on a severe night. So under my mobile home I hired a friend to frame it with 2x4's. Then I plan on adding the pink fluffy insulation and staple it in place. Then, on top of that, I am th...

Best way to paint exterior paneling
I finally picked out a light sage brush green for the exterior of my mobile home. The vinyl skirting will be a light tan in color. It should look nice when its done. My exterior walls use the simulated wood paneling, and have grooves every 8 inches or so. What is the best way to paint these grooves?...

Recommendations for a quality exterior paint
I'm looking for decent quality but, considering this is a mobile home I'm repairing, I don't want or need the top of the line brand. Can anyone suggest a brand that is fairly good? I have a Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's near my house, including some regular paint stores.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Electrical outlet covers
I tried to take off the covers in preparation for painting inside my mobile home. I quickly realized they were glued on instead of a single screw, like you would find in a regular house. Is this normal? Or did the builder of my mobile home use this to save time? I tried to pry it off with a screwdri...

Re: Show me how your crown molding turned out
Good news! My friend who is helping me repair my home is going to tape and mud the gap where the wall meets the vaulted ceiling. He has already done some of it and it turned out really good. So now I can forget the added expense of trying to use crown molding to hide the gap.

Re: Show me how your crown molding turned out
Wow, this is another great example. Can you please tell me where you purchased your crown molding? Home Depot? Lowe's? Is it made up with a single piece or multiple pieces?
Thanks!
