High humidity in mobile home

I am having a very high humidity level in my mother`s old mobile home. Just had laminate flooring installed and it is starting to buckle. Not sure if it was not installed properly or the humidity is causing this. Humidity level near 90%. I am not aware of any leaks under the trailer. What could be c...

It is a purchase and install, they are buying the skirting kit I would guess and then installing it. There are two small porchs, they are only skirting one. I am in Ohio.

mobile home skirting cost

They are charging me 1200.00 to put vinyl skirting up on a 14 by 70 mobile home, is that about the going price? I felt like that was little high. I can only find one place that will even do it, so maybe thats why its so high?

Re: Best Mobile Home Skirting

I just talked to the lady at the parts store and the skirting that they install is Premium Plus made by Stylecrest. She said also as JD said they can take the top rail and use on the bottom to guard against weedeater problems. If anybody know anyhting about this skirting I would appreciate input on ...

Re: Best Mobile Home Skirting

JD, Thanks for your reply. I called a company today and they said they only install vinyl skirting. I went out and looked out some of my neighbors who have the vinyl, they have their grass mowed by someone else and all of them have holes in the skirting in the bottom from extreme weedwhacking. I do ...

Re: Best Mobile Home Skirting

Has anyone here used R- Cotec or Rapid Wall skirting? Whichever I go with I will have to have it installed which is going to cost a fortune. So, I need something that is fairly easy to install and maintain,

Best Mobile Home Skirting

I am in the process of moving into my deceased mother`s mobile. Needless to say there are many problems, rotten floors, mold, the front door framing stays wet and I can`t find out why? And the skirting is falling apart. It is some kind of wood that was installed way back when, it has rotted and lite...

Re: What to do with mold

I just had the same problem. I am moving into my deceased mother`s mobile and there was mold around where the water heater had leaked, it was up into the drywall and into the floor boards. It looked about the same as that. I think that is black mold but can`t be sure. We ripped everything thing out ...

Found Mold Around Hot Water Heater

I looked in on the hot water heater after all the demo going on lately. Well much to my suprise I found what I think is black mold on the drywall. I do remember my mom had a leak from the hot water heater a couple years ago and they replaced it. Now the hot water heater I guess has to be removed and...

Re: Rip out the garden tub?

I am in the process of moving into my mothers old mobile home. It has a garden tub that I was not a fan of. It is already coming out. I had the plumber come and cap off the the water lines and there were 4 screws to pull the whole thing up out of the opening. There is a small whole in the floor wher...

Aluminum wiring

I am moving into a 1986 Fleetwood, is there any possibility that it would have aluminum wiring in it? I am having electrical problems and the electrician said it might. I am hoping for copper wiring.

Veneer cabinets

I am moving into my deceased mothers mobile home a 1989 Fleetwood, it has the old veneer cabinets. They are a mess. Can they be painted over with anything that would adhere to them if so what?
I can not afford to replace them right now.

Re: insurance on a MH

You guys got off cheap, I just paid over $700 per year for mobile home insurance but did just get the whole roof replaced on the house and garage due to storm damage. Look for it all to go up next time due to damage nationwide from the storms. Mine was through Progressive.

Re: Funky Smell

I put a load of bleach through the washer, opened the vents to the skirting, cleaned the filter above the stove where I had been cooking(frying stuff) and all of that seemed to help. I have to agree I do think the heat and the house being closed up for so long with the AC on does not help. Thanks so...
