Re: Vinyl closed rod covers

All the big box building supply stores have these shower rod covers. I use white when I do my renovation flips.
I have had them on all my closet rods in my own home for 30 years without ever having to replace one yet.

Re: Question on mice

We actually get more complaints about cats than mice.
And yes we do trap cats.

Re: Question on mice

Actually ponch the way the poisons work the rodents will leave the area of your home. They do not crawl into your home as many believe. The reason being that the poison causes dehydration resulting in an unquenchable thirst. It will take several days to die and providing there is no open source of w...

Re: Question on mice

Poison has always been my tried and true method. Plenty of containers under the home and you don't have to waste your time setting traps. Traps only control a problem once it exists and are messy whereas with poison I never have mice in the house don't have to deal with disease infested rodents and ...

Also make sure you do not have any dripping faucets or you could end up with blocked/broken septic lines.

Re: windows-replace or take out completely????

Regardless of your choice to replace or remove you should first speak with your local building inspector to determine if what you plan is according to the local building code. It is easier than being half way through a reno and be faced with a building code violation and fine.

Re: Perimeter Blocking

Actually JD it is not my intention to live in the home. I am bringing it in and selling it to a retired couple that are downsizing. Although it is less expensive to go with the heavier joists as opposed to perimeter blocking my primary reason is to provide the best posible home I can for the buyers....

Re: Perimeter Blocking

Thanks for the response JD. I have decided that rather than go the expense and hassle of perimeter blocking I will be ordering a home with 2 X 12 joists. It's only an additional $500 but unfortunately the delay will now put off me bringing it in until the spring. Winter is beginning to set in up her...

Re: Installing a new window where there was none.

I believe you are misunderstanding the advice being given. The tool shown is used to unhook the top row of siding from the one below. What you must do is starting at the top of the wall remove each row of siding down to a level below the intended window opening. Install the new window and reinstall ...

Re: Water Heater Help

Assuming the plumber had been informed by the homeowner that they had a gas stove. If they knew they most likely would have re lit it for the customer out of courtesy. Having been a repair tech in the past I have learned that it is impossible to be proactive or responsible for every aspect of a cust...

Perimeter Blocking

I am purchasing a 2013 Fairmont home that requires Perimeter Blocking. What are the basics of how it is structured. Does perimeter blocking require a concrete footing below the frost line, how does it work in conjunction with the piers under the main support rails. In my location we have severe wint...

Re: Window Replacement Question

The type of work you are doing in most areas requires a building permit. It is easy to get a permit but without one you will face a fine from the building inspector if you are reported.
Best to follow all rules to insure the work you are doing is to code.

Re: It's funny how some people don't know what mobile homes

There is a action or event which triggered the inclusion of every rule. Park owners do not enjoy enforcing rules and would not include rules that are unnecessary or intended to be bent or ignored. Some rules may be for legal protection of the owner, others for the protection of the residents, others...

Re: It's funny how some people don't know what mobile homes

Keep in mind the property manager is being paid to do a job. Part of their responsibilities is to insure everyone follows the rules. If residents do not keep the property manager informed then they can not do the job they are paid for. Reporting infractions to the manager is not causing trouble it i...
