RE: Aspartame

Harry, prod her along to cut way back. My husband and I both have had some real problems after drinking too many colas (Pepsi). We tend to take off in the boat with that ice chest full, and its 100 deg. out. After my sons last visit from Iraq (out on boat running trout lines, cat fishing, all day) w...

Yanita, should I thank you now for asking me for lighter pictures. I took my big purple bottle of 'Super Clean" into the M-Bath for those "lighter" pictures. I thought the original mood lighting was perfect in there for hiding the unfinished aspects of the remodel. You'll see them now...

RE: Aspartame

Greg On a whim, I decided to just not drink coffee anymore. For four days I sat at my desk with a throbbing headache. I went to the lunch room and sat at the table with my head in my hands wishing someone would shoot me. I couldn't function. A friend asked me if I was trying to quit drinking coffee ...

RE: Crown molding - cathedral ceiling

Cost of crown molding, power grab, and coping saw $124.

Bottle of tequila $20.

Asking a cabinet-maker for help, priceless.

RE: Making For Sale poster

Not to worry, it was an indoor water feature from Lowe's that was about 3 feet high and maybe a foot or so wide ($150). I trimmed it out to make it look more substantial. It was the trim that popped it off the wall. When not running it was a piece of art. Also it was not in a mobile home. Yanita, th...

RE: Kitchen "remodel" on a shoestring

Thanks Susan and Adriamarie. That's not their dream kitchen, but I told them because the update was so cheap they could tear it out tomorrow with no regrets. We love IKEA kitchens. So that's where that new kitchen will come from! I can't help but notice that Deserving Design, Color Splash, etc. use ...

I'm going to Lowe's later today. I'll buy extra crown, a new coping saw, and a bottle of tequila. If it is not too embarrassing, I will post a picture tomorrow. If there is no picture, it probably became a 4 margarita job, and I'm sleeping it off. Spongebob, I haven't tried anything yet. I saw crown...

RE: Crown molding - cathedral ceiling

I know upside down and backwards. I've put it up several times. But I've never dealt with the upward slope of the ceiling. I have plenty of hair, a new tube of caulk, a new compound miter saw (my Christmas present from hubby), and all the time in the world. Thanks for responding.

Crown molding - cathedral ceiling

Is there a trick to cutting the crown at the corners where the cathedral ceilings meet the straight, horizontal runs. The cathedral piece of crown will be coming in at an angle. Wouldn't this elongate the cut on that piece so it won't meet the reciprocal miter cut correctly on the straight, horizont...

Kitchen "remodel" on a shoestring

I joined this site to get decorating ideas for my MH. Mainly redoing the walls. I thought I might post some pics of a kitchen makeover I did for my Daughter-in-Law last November for her Christmas present, because her kitchen looked as bad as anything I had ever seen and she was so ashamed of it. The...

Your house looks really good. I stage houses (also flip them) and I do have a couple of suggestions. They are only suggestions though from my point of view as your "potential buyer." I would remove the clock from the bathroom sink. It is out of place there. Hang a nice clock on the wall. W...

Yanita I am very new to website. I can upload pics in album, but can't upload a pic when I'm posting a topic or reply. I have a button that says (img) but when I click it the word "img" just appears in the text - like this [img]. Should there be an actual button that says "upload pic&...

RE: mouse problems yet again

When hubby and I married his MH had mice. I would have thought we sealed all the incoming water lines until we moved the kitchen island. Under the "false floor" of the cabinet where the water lines came in through the floor were gaps that the MH manufacturer didn't seal up. There was no wa...

RE: stains on plastic tub from caulking

I had a tub stained with red iron (well problems -- had to drill a new well). Absolutely nothing on the planet would remove these horrible stains. I even bought a one-piece tub and surround only to find it wouldn't go through the door. I found another site that said to buy Super Clean in the big pur...
