We have Foremost full coverage for $55 a month. We got the full force of hurricane Rita. Not too far from Houston, lots of damage in the County and declared a disaster area. Fortunately no increase in premiums. We switched to AARP Hartford insurance on our automobiles. We had Nationwide (no wrecks o...

RE: logging in

For what it's worth I have Vista. I just logged in once. After that it's twice. Thats Vista. I insert my pic card and E drive pops right up, but only the first time. After that nothing. You gotta love Vista for its creative glitches.

Sign me, tired of rebooting.

RE: Ceiling with rosettes question

If you ask my husband he will say I am the bane of his existence. Or that he's glad he not blind, because our house changes every day. He also jokes that his middle name is "manual labor." Please do not underestimate how frustrating it is to wallpaper overhead, especially if the ceiling ha...

RE: Ceiling with rosettes question

Tigger: I've tried the Architectural wallpaper on my ceiling. You probably know that Anaglypta and Architectural are paintable wall papers specifically made to bridge imperfections, up to 1/4 inch cracks (such as paneling) and even cinder block walls. If you could replace the rosettes with flat wash...

Maybe a dip in the old "hot tub" to get her in the mood after the card sings to her real loud; and to loosen you up a bit after that back surgery. Hubby's doctor gave him a prescription for an outrageous therapeutic hot tub after he hurt his back. I seriously doubt that prescription includ...

RE: CHANTIX - success?

Harry Sorry about your back. My husband was seriously insured at Shell. Hit in back with pipe swinging on the end of a crane and he flew 50 feet. He's had 3 back surgeries and neck surgery. Heck he had on a neck brace when we went on our first date. I was afraid I would break his neck! Anyway, his D...

RE: CHANTIX - success?

Our insurance company prefers to pay for long-term lung diseases and smoking related illnesses. But my insurance spokesperson proclaimed Chantix to be a real success story, and apologized that they couldn't cover any of the cost. Not so for all plans though. Some insurance companies pay a percentage...

CHANTIX - success?

My husband, a heavy smoker for over 40 years, is taking Chantix and has cut back from 2 packs a day to one pack every three days. This is quite astonishing, as he told me when we got married not to ever ask him to choose between me and the cigarettes. He believed he could never quit, and I'm a non-s...

RE: Ideas for new siding?

You have to look at a lot of sites to find a price. I read between $400 to $600 per 100 sq. ft. Each "log" is filled with styrofoam for some insulation value, but not R-rated. They say maybe rated 3 because styrofoam is not continuous, but only inserted into the rounded log portion to make...

Garrett:

FYI: Just in case your bill is really high. Some water municipalities allow a one-time water loss write-off. I used it in Maryland when my pipes burst and the bill exceeded $300. They based my new bill on my average usage. You have to ask for it though.

You tell the little bride not to give up on the Love Shack idea yet. Every shed has the potential to become something great.

Right now though, hubby's building career is on hold cause it's raining cats and dogs and we're getting 30 mile winds.

TexasPrairieRose Thank you for posting the two sites. Did you ever get a quote for the gemstone product. At $63 for a 2x4 piece of the FauxPanels our 24x48 home would cost over $3,100 to "skirt" if it never exceeded 2 ft in height. My excitement faded quite a lot once I figured the total c...

RE: Help! Can't get into my car!!

When I lived up north, I would pour very warm water over the lock and heat up my key. Course when it's bitter cold the water freezes almost on contact. Does the deicing stuff you shoot into the lock work? Woodywoodpecker: I read several threads on keyless entry. Lots of debate about whether it will ...

RE: Sewer Backup

We have an aerobic system because we live on the water. However, we had the septic man out recently. He had just returned from a 2-day course he had to attend to stay certified. We used Rid-Ex; however he strongly suggested that we switch to regular old Molasses. Very cheap and feeds the good bacter...
