RE: metal roof on double wide
Hi Greg and welcome, good for you in deciding to do roof yourself. if you order Marks repair book you will find a section on doing reroofs. as long as your home is level and tied together you should not have any problems (as far as i can see)as you are working on a bigger roof. I think that JD will ...

RE: New Construction or Replacement window?
Hi Lorne,
should not be a problem with the window you have already purchased. it will show you how good your carpenter is, as i have done most of my windows using replacement windows. It just makes you think a bit more.

RE: peaked roof building?
OK OK it can be done in so far as a peak goes but old roof trusses will have to be removed. having said that i have talked to several truss manufactures and they have told me even their engineers won't put their necks in that noose as they are concerned about what will happen if the restructured hom...

RE: Versaroc
HI Jim G,
Yes have heard about versaroc and like JD says and i agree too heavy for ceiling but great for skirting. Better to use mold resistant Sheetrock, or if your are looking for the rustic look you could use t&g pine slats.

RE: Plumbing Drain Problem
Hi, quickest way to find out if stack is plugged is to go up on roof (take a piece of 3/4 ply to stand on if it is a tin flat roof 4X8) and using a 10-12 ft length of fish tape probe down the stack if you encounter something that stops the fish tape mark your fish tape and withdraw the tape from sta...

Hi, Yes they are trying to get the older homes out of the parks. having owned a stick built home in Edmonton and in a artutecuraily controlled area i found out the hard way just how much power the corperations have. my home was altered when being built just because they could not see the front door ...

RE: peaked roof building?
Hi and just my 2 cents worth. we are going through a similar thing here, and having said that I know of one home that was done. the problem now with the home is that it is now buckling and collapsing as a result of doing a peak roof over. there is currently a investigation into this and at this time...

RE: re-leveling
Hi, Doing a relevel as a DYI is a good idea and if you use the relevel kit that Mark sells here and follow the instructions you should be fine. Just remember to have a second person to help you, and as far as those that can not afford my rates because they are on fixed income I always consider their...

RE: Crash Damage
Good Day, You can probably contact a local Mobile home dealer to see who they use for setups and repairs. If they can not tell you then look in the yellow pages under RV sales and service and contact some of those deales. If you still have no luck look for a welder, i know this sounds like a legnthy...

Hi, Like everyone says as we all live in different locals your price will vary. I will charge a minimum of 700+ materials and spend up to 6 hours on a home. I live in Alberta and alot of people don't understand mobile/manufactured homes. just my 2bits worth.

RE: Hot water heater access door update
Hi, God job on the door. Just a thought would it be to your advantage to purchase or lease a bigger tank for propane, talk to your local propane dealer to see if they sell 500 or1000 LB pigs (tank). think it would be cheaper in the long run, and then you have a truck come out 2-3 times a year rather...
