RE: homeowners insurance

It's going to depend a lot in Texas what county you live in. Harris county is hard to get ho insurance in. Not sure where you live though.

Harry, Keep in mind homeowners does more than protect your home. It also protects you from getting sued if someone trips and falls and bumps thier head or falls down your stairs. Liability insurance is very important to have. People love to sue each other, it's a national past time it seems at this ...

RE: Are manufactured homes a dying breed?

I think at this time with the housing market spiraling downward and it being a buyers market with the combination of the recent trend to loan people who only qualify for sub-prime loans, people who would have bought a MH are buying stick homes. I believe that as the market corrects itself the pendul...

RE: Landscaping

Keep in mind that any tree that is that fast growing will also be a weak tree and be prone to drop branches in high winds and storms.

Good things are often worth waiting for :)

RE: CHANTIX - success?

DH tried it and it worked fairly well but he didn't sleep well, he was constantly nauseous and he didn' t like how it made him feel. He has been smoking for almost 40 years though.

For a brief and happy time though, there was much less cigarette smoke floating around.

Yanita, it's been hectic here. Son is having a baby and possibly moving home with his girl, finals and Christmas and work stuff to boot. I'll check and see what pictures I have. I have a new laptop and everything is in funny places. We didn't take as many pictures when we got to the framing bit. I'l...

RE: framing the basement off

You will probably need to have the ceilings a tad lower than the metal as we did. Our ceilings in the basement are lower than I'd have wished them to be to account for the metal beams. We actually have a criss cross of beams welded together with the others imbedded in the basement walls. DH says tha...

Yanita this is a true tempurpedic, at least it says so on the label. I am a pillow flipper though and think all pillows get hot.

BTW it's the one with the odd shape. I've never quite figured out how one is supposed to lay on it. Maybe I'd like it better if it I did?

We've had a LOT of ice here in Iowa. Everything was pretty well closed down on Tuesday. Many people lost power because of ice on the lines. It finally started to melt of yesterday.

My macroeconomics final was postponed a week, which means another week of worrying. :~/

I started with a tempurpedic pillow to see if I liked it. We ended up going with a mattress set almost just like the one we had previously which is a traditional pillow top but in a king size. The tempurpedic gets kind of hot and hard, at least thats how it seems to me. I do use the pillow occasiona...

Technically I suppose it could be considered a two story home now. We couldn't really go out or up so we built down.

This is actually a concrete basement floor. We haven't gotten to the coldest months to determine how cold it will actually be. We do have small area rugs and slippers though, and the fireplace to boot :~) I shudder to think about the amount of gunk that's in carpets after having the laminate and cle...

I'm not sure if you can have a dog where you are but you could get a motion sensor dog bark. I don't know what it's called but it would be small and you could run an outdoor cord under the home to the spot.
