Re: Laminiate Flooring

Hi, I just did two installations of laminate flooring. one low end product, one higher end product. the more expensive product was easier to install, fewer chips and messed up click together strips. most of the damaged strips could be used to install at the end of the run, the start of the one, or i...

Re: Porch door leaking intio California room

water may be flowing down over the door when the wind blows from a certain direction. you need to check the caulk around the door, the weatherstripping in the door and if it has a window, there, and then see if water is flowing down the side of the home in a heavy rain. the gutter/drip channel in th...

Re: Robertshaw-Grayson Valve

Hi Ashley, your question will probably get moved over to the heating and cooling section, but a couple of quick suggestions: check that the gas valve into the furnace is turned correctly to on.... read all of the directions to light the pilot several times.. I once had a furnace that had to be lit w...

Re: stupid question possibly

some states let you change the mobile home from vehicle to deeded property if you install/update to the correct type of foundation and submit the correct paperwork... this can be anything from what the home sits on, to just installing cemented together cinder blocks around an existing home.... local...

Re: Foam Board Ceiling

I did a ceiling repair with 1/2 foam board insulation. I primed the board before installing it. I used a plastic bag to texture the primer, and this made it blend in with the other ceiling panels better after I painted it with the color coat... I held it up with molding/trim.... it has been fine for...

Re: Repair dent in siding on 1970s singlewide

Hi Cheryl.

if the dent is stubborn, I wonder if you can slide a piece of wood in behind it, screw through a chunk of wood attached in front of the dent, and pull or pry on the top wood with the increase in leverage...

Re: Replacement windows: Lowes, Home Depot or Window World?

If you have to do a different size window than the current opening, this trick worked well for me when I did my first one.... remove the old window, and get an idea of the depth of the framing you will be installing (in other words, is the wall framed in 2x2, 2x4, or 2x6 studs). lay the window face ...

Re: 1989 Palm Harbor double wide - opinions?

I would look into the local zoning laws, if something happens, (God forbid, like a fire) what type of mobile home or modular home would you be allowed to replace the home with? some counties and townships are so strict, you would have to almost put a brand new mobile home in its place.... some count...

Re: Square patch on bottom of kitchen sink

Betsy, I suggest that you will want to tape the underside of the rim also before spraying the bottom of the sink. that is so that the rim will be clean and flat to set back onto the sink.... and you might want to put a bead of caulk on the rim before replacing the sink into the counter top. I took a...

Re: New to me Nail Gun, which nail brands?

I'm going to tell on myself now.... I had a brain dead moment, and put brad nails in the finish nail gun.... they got stuck, and I had to take the gun to the tool repair service center.... That time was not as bad as when the drill broke down... I ended up coming home with an expensive replacement/u...
