Re: RE: This Old Trailer Online

All aluminum exterior, with a golden birch interior! My "mobile home" could be that...it still has the wheels on it! Ah, but there is the difference. The man who runs that site, and I have the same fun with formerly negative words. It's what you make of it as always. I have fun with the w...

Re: RE: This Old Trailer Online

I do NOT live in a TRAILER! There....I feel better now!! *shrug* my home is not mobile, therefore it is not a mobile home. The new one will be mobile for all of 20 minutes. It is also not a mobile home. I think if people are willing to have the word be offensive it will be. I am like many ma...

Re: RE: This Old Trailer Online

Thats pretty neat, one of my neighbors 3 homes down has a 1958 something or ruther, he showed me inside, and he has it fully restored, beautiful wood throughout, the kitchen is so old fashion and neat looking. After my experiences with my current trailer, I really admire anyone doing a rebuild on a...

Re: RE: This Old Trailer Online

Hi Jaie, How's your renos coming along? ~Yanita~ All work on That 70's Trailer have stopped. Soon we'll be moving into That 80's Trailer :o Much less work and I hope I can find someone who wants this place in the few months I have to get rid of it. But I'm truly looking forward to starting fresh wi...

RE: Soundproofing a wall

I also like Homasote. You usually see it in art studios since it can be pinned. But it's a green product, and older than most green products out there which I love. I suggest putting it between your studs then covering with either paneling or if you can, the thinner sheet rock. One layer will sound ...

This Old Trailer Online

I'm unsure if this has ever been shared here but if not, it should be.

http://www.thisoltrailer.com

This Ol Trailer heads out to the city this fall for the renovation of this classic 30 foot 1945 Stewart Coach.

Neat little page.

RE: Kitchen backsplash ideas

You gave your question just when I was answering the same exact one to myself! I've decided in my new kitchen (which is really ugly but I love the setup far more than my current trailer) to use glass mosaic tiles. In pink of course :D I found several on ebay that have this wonderful glitter in them ...

RE: Update

*grin* I plan on it. I've taken some on my personal journal (http://jaie.livejournal.com) if you want to take a look. It's going to take a bit of work, but in the long run much better for us.

Update

Well boys and girls, I decided to get the other trailer after a fast look by a trailer friend (he sells used and new ones and agreed to take a free look) who declared that it was worth $2500 and probably not much more, the belly was intact, and except for some cosmetic things was well worth it. It's...

Oh, and additional info, it will cost me $300 to move if the kickout is pushed in. Probably add $200 if it is not.

RE: Off topic and yet not...

Everyone pointed out everything I already realized (including that damn roof ARGH) yes, my LL is perfectly fine with me renting, tearing down, or selling my current trailer. He also owns and will be moving the other trailer whether I am the purchaser or not. I think I need to find a local who would ...

Off topic and yet not...

It's trailer related at any rate. I currently own a 77 single wide, maker unknown. I have a chance to get a newer (maybe mid 80's I've got to get more info on the trailer) I've posted to my blog up here about it (so handy a blog just for my trailer by the way. If I haven't already..THANK YOU for cre...

Re: RE: Roof decks

The type that I am thinking of is a Pole barn with no sides built over the home. That way the second roof will support any snow load, deflect rain and give you shade in the summer. Greg Is that the one with the overhang off the main roof? I've only seen one of those. I think any would be sharp and ...

Re: RE: Roof decks

Now since I know the area that you live, you must have seen the pole barn style roofovers. you could work off of this style and incorporate a deck also. Greg I'm guessing that's what they are anyhow. I've seen one, where half the roof had been turned into a pitched roof, then the other half was on ...

Re: RE: Roof decks

Hi, While your here Jaie, might want to make sure your son uses caution while on the roof regularly using his telescope. Some of these roofs only have 2"x2" trusses. Take care, ~Yanita~ A fellow carpenter buddy actually did something up there so he can be there. It's just a basic platform...
