I fixed me electrical problem...so happy now.
I moved in 3 weeks ago into my first mobile home and my first night was really bad. Strike one: No cable or internet: Comcast told me to just connect it myself. It didn't work so I had to stare at the walls and just watch content already on my computer for a week. . Strike two: Go into my car to try...

Re: anyone have info and tips on installing AC in crank wind
I hired a handyman to come and install it. He only had to remove the glass of the bottom half of the window, I got lucky and the unit I bought fit perfectly.

Re: What color is your mobile home interior painted?
I finished a few weeks ago. It was not traditional paneling but they were panels. I bought 5 gallons of Home Depot flat white maintenance paint and had to give everything 3 or 4 coats, but now it looks great and like a regular wall. The bedrooms had a strange cross courdoutuy type wall covering but ...

Re: Sliding Glass Entry Doors
Thanks all for the info. I ended up buying some at Home Depot. They look great, I found the best way to open them is to twist them half way and then slide them over and not too fast.

How do you secure your sliding glass door?
I know how to secure it from the inside, with a piece of a wooden beam, but that's only good when I'm home or if I go out I have to leave by the back door. Which is normally fine but when it's raining I don't want to drip water on my laminate wood floor by walking around to the back door. Is there a...

Re: Publication?
Rather than contact the owner, once you find a park talk to the residents. They will give you a better idea of what REALLY goes on. Few owners actually LIVE in their parks and have no clue what goes on when their are not around. We just moved from one after 22 years that the owner would have you be...

Re: Publication?
Where I am moving to it's owned by a company who owns many different mobile home sites. They allow any size dogs, but have breed restrictions on Pitbulls, Rotties (which is a shame, the most loving and well behaved dog I ever met that a friend of mine had was a Rottie) or other breeds considered dan...

Do you get a Home owner discount on auto policy?
I just called and they told me that they do not offer that discount for mobile homes. Does anyone who rents a lot and has a mobile home get this discount? All they told me was that I could bundle (buy more insurance) and get a reduced rate on the extra insurance. I don't want to spend more and I don...

Thanks guys, I had a handyman come in and install my ACs and he showed me that the clips were one top, or installed upside down.

anyone have info and tips on installing AC in crank window?
I think they are called Jalousie, but I'm not sure. It's 3 panels that crank out and up. The panels are about 11 inches high so it would be hard to find an AC to fit. I know odd size ACs are very expensive too. Has anyone put in an AC into a crank window system? I may have to put in a portable AC, w...

Has anyone had a wall unit AC installed?
I have an older mobile home I'm moving into with crank windows, 3 panels (Jalousie?). The only option I can think of that might be the simplest is to remove a glass panel and put a portable AC with vent in. I'm not a nandy man so it's not that simple either. Otherwise I think maybe I can have someon...
