RE: No house for me!!

That's so true. We live way out in the country - I say way out, we're only about 7 minutes from town, and 30 minutes from my job. But we live on a quiet country road, our closest neighbors have gone to the nursing home, and we have bought the 9 acres across the road, not to mention that our yard is ...

RE: Laminate Flooring

Yanita, I don't mind at all that you split the topic. I realized before I made my last post that it had NOTHING to do with the original post! LOL Okay, so I guess I can make little things to go under my furniture. I have Berber carpet (I know, how dumb could I have been?) in my living room now, and ...

RE: Old porch, new porch pics...

I have a question about laminate. Does it hold up to heavy furniture? My living room is FULL of furniture. I also have a piano in there. I am just concerned about the heaviness of the furniture on the laminate. Will it hold up well? I just keep having this vision of the laminate breaking under all t...

RE: Old porch, new porch pics...

Then, I guess the first thing I want to do is replace our old carpet in living room and hall with laminate. I'm trying to talk hubby into doing this, I'm convinced we can do it, but he's just being stubborn! I'll take before and after pics, if I can talk him into it. I know, I'll just rip out the ca...

What's next? Well, first I gotta get our mh re-leveled. It's only been re-leveled once since 1994.

RE: Painting Walls

There's sooooooo much I don't know about paint! I was just wondering if the walls would be washable if they get dirty, without having to re-paint. Not really fond of the idea of putting so much work into the project, and 5 years down the road having to re-paint. My MIL has sheetrock walls, and she r...

RE: Painting Walls

I have the same kind of walls as the o.p., but mine aren't solid white. My question is, would I have to re-paint? I don't think I would mind painting ONCE, but I'm quite sure that's not something I want to do often. Yanita, what's your opinion on this? Just curious, because it will definitely have s...

RE: Textured Walls

I followed CaptHowdy's advice about the codec pack, and finally got to see the video. It's a great video. I think I could do this, CPA really explains it well.

Old porch, new porch pics...

Here's my before and after pictures of our old porch and the new one we built this spring. My hubby and I are NOT carpenters - heck, we're not even handy with tools! So it was a learn-as-you-go project, and hopefully the porch will last many, many years. http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/146...

Uploaded pictures...

Hi, I just uploaded some pictures of my mobile home, the kitchen area in particular, as well as some pics of my yard, water garden, and a birdbath I made. You might get some ideas, as well as have some for me! LOL I think my first project will be to replace the carpet in our living room and hall wit...

I can't see any of these pictures. They only come up as little red x's.

Jeff, This is the error I get when trying to play the file in media player. Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. This is what I get in QuickTime: Error 2048: Couldn't open the file bec...

RE: Self stick tiles

Hi, That must have been somebody else with the overflowing toilet. Thankfully, we've never had that happen! But you're probably right about the soft spots - hubby has a rug he puts in front of his shower before he gets in, but I'm sure that rug hasn't caught all the water. I'm so anxious to pull tha...
