Having a problem getting answers

Hi, Yanita, et. al! :) I tried to send a PM, but got the usual error, so I guess this is the place for me to post this message? I hope so.... I posted a couple of questions in the Coleman heater section, and although the resident expert has answered other people's questions, he hasn't answered mine,...

Ducts are making more noise lately

A *lot* of noise! The ducts in our DWMH are a fairly thin metal, so we're used to them making some noise as they expand and contract. However.... In the past few days, one of our living room ducts makes a LOUD BOOM each time it expands or contracts. What can we do about this? Has something come loos...

Coleman DGAE080CDK making noise, takes a long time to start

We have a Coleman DGAE080CDK (serial no. W0F6557001). Over the past year, it seems to be taking longer and longer to start. We've had technicians out here twice, but I'm not sure they know what they're doing. So I'd like some advice to see whether my hunch is right or wrong. Now, it's not just that ...

Or you could do as I've done: Use a small tension curtain rod and use a curtain as your door. The former owners did this on a closet here, and I "borrowed" the idea for another closet and the master bathroom. :)

Also important...make sure you know HOW to change your thermostat's batteries. I once ran into that problem, which is pretty frightening when it's 115 degrees outside, and your A/C could go off at any time....

RE: Contraptioneer!

If I lived closer to Michigan, I'd take him up on this, LOL!

I've made a few little contraptions in my time, but nothing on this scale. He's a real wiz with a wrench...and a chain saw!

Re: Finally! HGTV did a mobile home!

I'd rather see a snake than a mouse. Sherry I've actually seen both, LOL. I like the garter snakes, but they try to avoid me. :) We've only had one mouse, but we found it in our washer--when it was nearly filled with water and wet laundry! No way could I use a mousetrap there. I've seen what mouset...

I remember doing something incredibly stupid a couple years ago. I was adding RAM to my aunt's PC, which is normally a no-brainer.

Only this time, I'd forgotten to unplug the computer!

Thank heavens that God sometimes chooses to protect ignorant people!

Just make sure it's an electric water heater if you're going to put insulation around it. Gas water heaters have a flame, which can pose a hazard if anything even remotely flammable touches it....

Besides, I don't see any of the Japanese auto companies asking for bailout money. That's because the Japanese government gives their automakers subsidies. Whether it's called subsidies or a bailout, it still amounts to Japan giving their automaking companies an awful lot of money. One of the little...

Thanks...I was just concerned that maybe the porch was attached to the house wrong, and that it was causing problems.

I'm such a noob about these things.... :)

I realize that movement causes the noise...the question is, why is only one corner of the house moving? If there's a structural problem, I'd like to know about it. I'd hate to wake up one winter morning to a gaping crack in our MH.... :(

Crackling sound on windy days

OK, I know MH's tend to be noisy when temps change, but this is different. Today, the winds have been very strong, gusting up to 50 mph. The northwest corner of the house crackles when the wind hits it. When I press on the interior molding between the wall and ceiling, I get the same noise. Info tha...
