Re: My kitchen project

Mine appear to be ok with no water damage. Just under the middle sink shelf floor panel got the worst of it & its all bowed down. The lower portion of the floor under it I know has to be bad & rotten cause the outside flooring of the cabinets is bowed down, Thanks for the tectured formica bo...

Re: My ceiling panel repair

Wow, Yanita... A pleasant blast from the past. Miss her. When removing a ceiling panel for salvage, you have to be extra careful not to break the pretty fragile panel. To be safe, I would say it takes 3 people for the inexperienced. Two to hold and help lower the panel, one person to clip the final...

Re: removing particle board flooring

There are also jamb saw attachments that hook up to a drill. Personally, I use a Rigid One Hand reciprocal saw. This is a small sawzall, with a 1/2" saw travel, compared to a 1 1/4" travel of a big sawzall. The big saw can reach down and cut wire and pipe very easily. Not good! With a 4&q...

Re: underbelly

I'm not an expert by any means (I really don't know much about anything) but I'd think any open spots would mean it could get drafty in those areas. It will also invite bugs & spiders in the flooring into the house as well. I have roaches & grand daddy long legs that get in my shower's &...

Re: removing particle board flooring

:D I wished some saw company would come up with a saw that would cut right along the very edge of the walls. I really hate chiseling & digging out the old PB under the floor joist's. My back isn't what it used to be lying down on the floor for so long. Just tack on a 2x4 or 2x6 support board wit...

Re: My ceiling panel repair

Your wife was being kind with her description. I assume you were all out of white tape at the time of the repair. Gosh I didn't think about the white tape. Have to go to the hardware store & see if they have some. I may have to use alot to cover over the large opening. Firs I have to drop it do...

Re: My kitchen project

One more pic of my kitchen project.
These cabinets shouldn't be that hard to salvage to reuse.
