Frustrated with window film!

I bought the Frost King brand of window insulation Kit at HD. No Other brand available there, like 3-M. Tried it Outside on the window frame and inside too, "After Cleaning it". They keep pealing away from the adhesive strip that is stuck to the wood surface. Darn-Heck. Is the 3-M brand be...

Re: Rain gutter leaf filters?

Some dead limbs, but the biggest problem is that the tree trunk (big tree) is 8 inches from the roof edge. I will be getting an inspection of the tree as soon as the weather warms up a little.
It does give us a lot of shade when it leafs out fully.

Re: Rain gutter leaf filters?

i would use chiken wire, the screen with the 1/2 inch holes , figure out how much you need and then cut it in strips to fit in the gutter, it's rigid so it can confor to the shape some what. or you can just place it flat on the top and secure We live under a BIG Hickory tree that drops PEA size nut...

Re: Laminate flooring, orientation, transitions and entrance

We just ordered Trafficmaster Vinyl Plank flooring for our enclosed porch. It's the kind that has the adhesive strips at the end and along one side and floats, not nailed down. It says it is 100% waterproof with a 10 yr warranty. From all I've read people love it and say it looks real. At HD it is $...

Re: Rain gutter leaf filters?

Gutterglove seems the best, but no distributors in SC.
Fine mesh seems the way to go.

Amerimax is the next highest rating.
Thanks for the heads up.

Rain gutter leaf filters?

I'm having 60 ft of gutter put up ( a 40 length & 2 10 ft lengths). Big Hickory tree drops small and large nuts and leaves. All the new fangled leaf guards are expensive, like Gutter Helmet, etc. I saw foam chunks that you stuff inside the gutter and figured they would be cheap. NOT!! For 60 fee...

Best Belly wrap tape

What is the best tape for sticking to the belly wrap after accessing the duct work. Looks like "Duct Tape" is effected by cold somewhat. Or is it just me. Having 2 ducts extended with flex ducts to the enclosed porch, adding 3/4" more sub flooring and then Trafficmaster Allure, along ...

Beware of Rubbermaid shelf brackets

At Home Depot: They Don't fit tight in the Rubbermaid upright strips. You are supposed to inset the shelf bracket into the two slots in the upright, then hammer down so it wedges into the slots. NOT. These Brackets just drop down in the slots in a sloppy, loose fit and wobble side to side. Not to me...

Re: Filter availability for package Unit

Didn't know there was that type, thanks.

If and when we ever finish interior projects, then the filters will last longer.
Then I won't have anything to do, how sad.

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!! I need to learn how to take down a wall

I read of one where they opened the outside wall because they wanted a one piece shower unit installed. If a tube is not the most important to you then get a 4-piece shower unit like I did and save the walls. I'm too big for a tube anyway.

Re: Filter availability for package Unit

I forgot I posted this. The filter is roughly 20x25x5 inches. Once a month is a little to expensive even at $25 and the enclosure is a bear to open up outside. Sheet tin, custom made to fit between the Package Unit and the house. Usually we get it replaced at the change of every season or twice a ye...

Re: heat ducts

We had a double wide with a Coleman Gas heater and the point where the hot air blew down to the round ducts was poorly divided, so too much air blew to one half of the house. With some sheet tin and a lot of swearing I was able to create a better split and equalize the pressure. The above suggestion...
