Re: Roof Repair

I know you are working with a budget but putting on a metal roof would be a perm fix to your roof problem and you would not have to tear anything off the roof. You can use 2 x4 to make more of a pitch, attach them to the trusses from front to back, you can add a 1 x or another 2x4 on top of each othe...

#3 Before /After Bath/bedrooms

We kept the sizes of the bedrooms and bath close to the same size as the original MH. We added a full size one piece tub/shower and the washer/dryer is in the bathroom. I love this setup as it makes a large bathroom. My daughters washer/dryer is in the hall and we are changing hers to the setup in t...

# 2 Before/after Kitchen

We used the old sink base as there was nothing wrong with it. All of the cabinets on the other wall we built custom as the corner cabinet we had a 23 x39 inch space by the sink to the stove that we did not want to be wasted space as we had a small kitchen. The upper cabinets we needed for the microw...

Re: Given a 1972 Regent..

Hi and Welcome to the group!! It sound like from all the post you have a handle on what needs done. Free is a big help!! One day and project at a time! At one time someone gave some love to the MH. If they replaced with drywall I would say the may have replaced the studs or beefed up the studs for t...

Re: Installation of new Metal Roof question

I order my metal at Lowes what ever color I want, I order the screws and any of the needed garbles--trim I need in the same color --there is book you order from and it shows all of the needed trims at the customer service or commercial counter.

Re: Funky Smell

I would say all of the insulation is wet under the mobile home where the leak happened and under the cabinet. Plus I would put a drain cleaner in the pipes to clean them out,did the plumber dump and clean out the trap? It could have junk in it that smells.Plus you might want to make sure the outside...

Re: Photo should I paint support poles??

Thanks for all the advice, I still like others opinions on colors and designs as sometimes you are working so close with something--or too long on it lol-- that you miss things that are bright and clear to others not working on it :) And I count this forum as a friend to bounce ideas off of and as a...

P7060004 (640x480).jpg The color of the mobile home siding a tan--I painted the horizontal trim this color OR black like the window trim?? I really love the black it is so sharp. We painted my dd's mobile home, beside it the same blue as her siding, her trim is white and the support poles seem to dis...

Re: Help, where to start, complete remodel- *LONG*

We just finished much of this except the awnings. Are you replacing the walls in the inside?? if not, then I would start on one side, tear off the siding--if you are doing smart siding you can go each 4 ft section and replace it/repair as needed and replace the windows as you go. This would give you e...

Re: New roof on an old double wide?

By the way--when you add a new roof and siding all the things sticking out you can remove like in photo the angle pieces and the little over extension in the top, just extra--you can make it look like a square house. We removed ours with no issues.
