RE: need advice on air compressor
Thanks guys. I think that the universe is watching out for me because I made this post and then later went to the hardware store for something and there was an ad posted there that someone had a portable air compressor and some accessories for sale. Dang! So I called and went to look at the goods. I...

need advice on air compressor
I can't even staple anything without having to pound the staple the rest of the way in with a hammer! I'm thinking of buying a portable air compressor that would staple, nail, paint, and screw. It would have to run off 110 and not 220 and not be too difficult to move around, plus, it would have to b...

RE: North American Union & National ID Card
I've been reading at www.backwoodshome.com for a long time. The folks there seem to know what's coming and what to do about it. You might want to check out their website Pennyless or others who are concerned.

RE: Attaching styrofoam under corrogated metal skirting
JD, can you please explain how this z-bar works? I don't understand why it has an outside piece of metal and then also an inside piece of metal. I have a bunch of that putty tape like one uses behind window frames and such. Do you think it would be a good idea to use some of that behind the z-bar wh...

RE: Attaching styrofoam under corrogated metal skirting
Got 4 sections of bellyboard repaired today and installed the foam board to those sections. I used flex mend tape, pieces of tarp, pieces of lathe, pieces of paneling and it's definitely all tight underneath those sections. Got the metal skirting back on and am wondering what I should get to put ove...

RE: Cold flooring in winter?
This might sound kinda odd but I have a double layer of carpet in the bedroom and that floor is never cold. I had access to carpet but would have had to buy padding so instead, I just put in 2 layers of carpet. Large area rugs help in the winter and you can always take them up in the summer when the...

RE: Attaching styrofoam under corrogated metal skirting
Got Marks book back out and looked at how styrofoam board was attached. In the example in the book, the home is not on a cement slab but the idea was that stakes be driven in the ground around the perimeter board and these will then hold the styrofoam sheets in place. Since my home is on a cement sl...

RE: repairing or replacing Pex water lines
Hi Mist, and my deepest sympathies! If you decide to tackle this project yourself, it may take a whole lot longer than you think it will take and be prepared to find a myriad of problems resulting in future projects along the way! As JD mentioned, I just went through all this myself and did not know...

RE: Attaching styrofoam under corrogated metal skirting
What about maybe glueing the foam board to the back of the corrugated metal skirting with construction glue?
