Hi betty joanne, Just going to give my 2 Canadian cents worth here. Yes you can place your double wide on concrete blocks, but if you have gone to the point of having a slab poured it would be better if you placed home on adjustable steel piers as you have a level and extreamly solid platform to wor...

Hi scottman Sounds like you might want to replace the seals. how long after you r&r the tap before it starts to leak? if it is only several hours then replace the seals as they are inexpensive and see what happens. if the problem persists then replace whole unit, and yes most taps that come in u...

Hi Mark, On a serious note when my dad and my uncle did their garages they could not afford the price of a jitterbug so what they would do is take a piece of 2x4 about 6" long and attach 2x2 handle and work the 2x4 like a plunger through the concrete before they leveled it. When they had everyt...

RE: Repair 1989 or buy new?

Hi Arby and welcome to the family, Well guess I'll throw my 2 Canadian cents worth in as well. The choice is yours as far as what you want to do, and if you are thinking about what it is you are going to do make a list of everything that is wrong with your current home, check the real estate listing...

RE: Do-It-Yourself Concrete Pad REPAIR

Hi, Sounds like you could use somebody that does mud jacking. It is basically like Mark was saying where they drill into the concrete pad in several points in your concrete and by pumping material(may be concrete or a mud type of concrete mix) into the void thereby bringing the slab back to level. I...

RE: 1999 New M0on

Hello, Like Greg and Yanita have said, read the list at the start of the forum and one other thing that you might want to do if it is in a park is to talk to the neighbors if you are really serious about the unit. the neighbors may be able to tell you if the current owners have had problems, and it ...

RE: Water damage repair help

Hello and yes you can do it. I have to agree with JD in so far as doing the job in smaller sections.Another reason to do job in smaller sections is do only what you think you can replace in one day just in case it rains. As far as a temporary wall to support the roof line yes you can do one temp wal...

RE: Painting a ceiling

H i mp183. Could you give us a little more info as to the make and year of trailer. The reason i ask is there was a period of time in the early 70's that some manufacturers played around with their ceilings and most were a 1/4 in panel cover with vinyl type of coating (may be different in USA but wa...

Hi Lefties, Sounds like your wavy floor is because of the ground moisture you are experiencing. if you have had a lot of rain then that would explain things, or like Yanita and her hubby problem was ground slope. there is one or two other things that may be causing your water problem. One = could be...

Hi Jason, Good pics, But please use a mask when you are working in there as we don't need to hear that you are in the hospital. Dealing with mold is something that should be done by the pros but if you are going to do it yourself then ensure that the room is sealed off from the rest of the home, and...

Hi and now getting back to the topic, I would go with a bigger floor pan with lip and it comes in 3-4 pieces. You can pick them up at most of the bigger box hardware stores. Cannot remember the name of the unit i looked at but it was big enough for 2 to get in at the same time.

Hi , tried a couple of months ago to get my home on one of those reality type home Reno shows and was politely to that they do not do our type of home. guess they are afraid to really work as we all know that mobile homes are harder to work on(not true but we'll let them think that). I think a show ...
