RE: Problem with our new vinyl floor...

LOL

Hubby used silicone to bond the floor around the vent, and it worked beautifully! Thanks Yanita for your advice. And I'm not sure if he would read the book - really, he NEVER reads - but I might get it for me!!!

RE: Problem with our new vinyl floor...

Yep, we wanted to check out our subfloor, make sure we hadn't had any leaks, so that's why we pulled the old floor up. It was so easy, since it wasn't glued down! I might order the book, but for myself, not for him! He doesn't read - he can, he just won't! Go figure!! But I'm in it for the long haul...

RE: Problem with our new vinyl floor...

So what you're saying is, we can glue down the floor around the vent, because that's where the air is coming in, right? Marvelous! Thank you for replying - I'm sure that will work and take care of the problem! I just couldn't stand to see the floor "blow up" every time the heater came on! ...

Problem with our new vinyl floor...

Well, actually the problem is my dear hubby. He did not listen when I told him the guy that sold me the floor advised that we glue the floor down. We replaced the vinyl floor in a small bathroom, took the old sheet vinyl floor up, which was not glued down, and put down new sheet vinyl. I even bought...

RE: Need help deciding which floor...

I went with vinyl sheet. It's such a small bathroom, it didn't take much. I'll post pictures of our completed project as soon as we're done. We ran into a snag or two. I got my vanity and top from Lowe's. It's fine, just really tall. I don't think I've even seen a taller vanity. But I like it. I als...

Need help deciding which floor...

Well, I've finally gotten started with my home improvement projects - I just got tired of thinking about it and talking about it, so I went to Lowe's Saturday! I'm getting started in our guest bathroom, which is my daughter's bathroom. It has sheet vinyl, with one tear in it. I am ripping out the fa...

RE: Spiders

You can't very well let spiders deface your home. I'm all for living and letting live, too, but sometimes you have to do these things! We live in a very rural area, so spiders have plenty of other places to live around me - they usually have big, beautiful webs on our porch this time of year, so we ...

RE: Spiders

We've had our share of pests, inside, outside and underneath our mobile home! Every summer we have a time with fireants getting inside, I guess because it's cooler in than out! My husband mixes up concentrated bug killer from Wal-Mart in a sprayer and sprays the sides of our home, at the base of the...

RE: kitchen update

Did you build a new frame too, or just doors? Our frame, I guess that's what you call it, is yukky too. Same old cheap mess. Not sure what to do.

It probably is cheaper to build your own, tho. What kind of wood did you use? Got any pics?

RE: decorating ideas

I agree. One of the members here, CPA, first got me to thinking about doing some major stuff to my mh. He and his wife bought a dw and he has posted pics on his website of the before, during and after. It looks awesome! If you need some ideas, or maybe some inspiration, check out his profile, and yo...

RE: kitchen update

Okay, here's what I've been told. I have the same kind of kitchen cabinets you have. Mine have started to look yukky because they've gotten wet around the knobs, etc. I think they will need to be sanded, and primed with Kilz. And it is recommended to spray paint them horizontally, so no runs. Maybe ...

RE: decorating ideas

I saw that episode! I, too, was really surprised, pleasantly, to see them decorate a mobile home. I thought it looked so much better when Kim got it done. This really is a great website to get ideas. I'm long on ideas - short on money! Do what I did - sit down with a legal pad or notebook, and have ...

"Mud and tape the seams" video?

Hi all, I am looking for some sort of video of the mud and tape process, where you take down the batten strips, mud and tape, then paint. Is anybody aware of any such thing? I'm a visual kind of person, and talking about it all day long is not going to make me any more confident that I can actually ...
