Re: Tile above shower wall ?

So if you're saying to keep the tile 12" below the ceiling, that pretty much is all our space except about 4". I don't think a 4" strip of tile is going to do anything for us. :) I'll continue to look for something that maybe has the appearance of stone but won't face the problems til...

That may be the nicest stainless sink I've ever seen! Thanks for the update, it looks great.

Tile above shower wall ?

Hi all. We're going to be remodeling our bathrooms later this year. We're replacing one tub and having the other converted to a shower only, and of course the wall surrounds on both will be replaced with new three piece surrounds. I know that it's generally recommended to not use tile on the walls o...

Re: Kitchen faucet lines.

>>features solid PB lines with the same gender fitting as the faucet<< Maybe I am not seeing this right, but most PB fittings I have worked with were 1/2 pipe thread. Wouldn't a 1/2" fip to 3/8" comp supply line make this connection? Yes, an adapter would technically work to connect the s...

Re: Kitchen faucet lines.

Thanks for all the thoughts. I hadn't really considered renting, but I suppose that's an option. I spoke with our plumber yesterday, and he'll be stopping by later this week to give an estimate for what we need done. No Menards in this area, but it looks like the $59 crimper is for 1/2" and 3/4...

Re: Kitchen faucet lines.

Dale, Thanks for the response. I basically came to the same conclusion you presented. I was able to find the Pex to PB adapters at Home Depot, but don't have any PEX crimpers. I'm currently researching whether I want to fork out the money for the crimpers to handle it myself. It seems $90+ is common...

Kitchen faucet lines.

We're going to be installing a new kitchen faucet, sink, as well as an undercounter water filter. Now, I installed new bathroom faucets in the home about eight years ago and distinctly remember not having to buy anything that wasn't included with the faucets. As I recall, the gray PB lines under the...

Re: Acrylic kitchen sink?

mdnagel, We recently faced this question and have also decided to get a deeper, single-basin sink for our upcoming kitchen remodel. We're tired of the puny 6" depth and split basins that nothing big will fit into. We were all set to go acrylic, but then I stumbled upon another, seemingly far be...

Re: Re-pipe cost ?

Wow, thanks for all the great replies so quickly, much appreciated! We had the new plumber out on Tuesday - he lives two blocks away from us. It became painfully obvious that we should have been dealing with him all along. His cost to repair our leak was a meager $134, several times less than the la...

Re-pipe cost ?

Hi all. What would be a reasonable cost to have a 24 x 48 Kentwood re-piped (PEX or copper, we're not picky). it has Qest Polybutylene piping now. So far estimates have ranged from $9,000 to $12,000! We're in the Seattle/Tacoma area, if that helps (Pierce County). We have two full bathrooms, laundry...
