We do not have any Lowes around here, but, I would NOT trust any piping made in china for potable water use.. you have no idea the conditions in which it is made or the raw materials used.. buy only from US or Can made suppliers in my opinion

I used a similar paint on my counter tops several years ago before I moved.. It came out nice and gave us another few years without changing the expensive countertops..so it really isnt new but a similar melamine type paint has been around for years..
Still , looks like a nice product.

Man, you have taken on a BIG job.. I think I would have just built a new one from the ground up rather than try to fix this up.. hope you got it cheap

At first glance, I had no idea what I was looking at.. Now that I figured it out,if it was me I would tear out the whole monstrosity and toss it in the garbage and do a proper ceiling with some new lites .. look on any web site for fixtures ideas and pics..

not sure I am reading you right , but if it is a metal type (usually aluminium) storm door, why could you not just go to any retailer that sells them and get one..they could make you up the necessary frame corrections etc..
just a thought
