Inducer motor noisy.

Hello.

Nordyne M1MB 090a AW

Inducer bearing(s) sound as if they need lubrication. Is that possible or do I have to replace the motor?

Thanks:)

Re: Nordyne furnaces don't have filters?

Unlike typical furnace filters, you can practically see through the mesh type. So I assume that the mesh filters will have much better air flow, but allow a lot more through.

In other words, would the higher air restriction of a typical furnace filter be a concern?

Re: Many clicks before starting (not a relay).

Thanks for the reply Dale. I did find out that it is indeed a combination sensor and ignitor. There is no problem with gas pressure or flame strength. So unless there is some weird electrical issue, the problem seems to be the sensor that sometimes fails the flame, thus closes the gas valve. The ign...

Re: Many clicks before starting (not a relay).

I'll just continue talking to myself here. lol Looking into the combustion chamber, the ignitor glows red hot, the gas valve opens, the gas ignites, then goes out. This is accompanied by the loud clicking, and that cycle happens about 4 to 6 times before the gas stays lit and the furnace runs fine. ...

Re: Many clicks before starting (not a relay).

I'll look into more, but I'm thinking it's the ignitor.

Does the ignitor make a loud click when it engages?

Many clicks before starting (not a relay).

Hello. Nordyne M1MB 09A AW Just recently I noticed two things: 1) The transformer is buzzing, even when the unit isn't running, so I'll replace that. 2) Just before it fires up and the blower comes on, I'll get anywhere from 1 to about 6 loud clicks. It's not the relays on the circuit board, as I us...

Re: Nordyne furnaces don't have filters?

I have that "filter" as well, and I use that term uselessly, as you can practically see through it. Most dust will get right through. The only airborne particles that it will catch is pet hair and carpet fibers. Given that I have no pets or carpet, I question if I should even have it at all.

Re: Filling floor seam

That will be fine. Use a flat edge trowel to apply it and let the first application dry as per the instructions. You may get shrinkage, so a second application may be in order. In addition, before you start laying down the floor, "bounce" around to check for squeaks, and if found, screw th...

Re: gutters & vinyl siding

If it's a metal roof, then just attach the gutter clips to the studs, clip on the gutters, and use 100% silicone to seal between the top of the gutter and the siding.

Re: Removing a hitch

The top of the hitch is at about 27". If I make my deck no higher than 24", then I don't have to deal with permits, inspections, etc. That means the hitch has to come out.

BTW- Would it help to use cutting oil to keep the blade as cool as possible?

Re: Removing a hitch

Thanks Greg.

The reciprocating saw was my main choice, along with a fire extinguisher nearby just in case. lol

If you have any suggestions as to the type of metal blade, please let me know.
