Online retailer for new split-system?

I'm looking to buy a new split system for my mobile home. The HVAC professionals in my area seem to be quoting me rather high prices and I have no idea if they are upcharging a lot or if that is actually how much it costs. They have given me quotes between $2500-$3000. I'm not really picky on brand,...

Re: Roof Leak

Thank you so much, guys. The bathroom fan rattles a bit anyway, so I will probably replace it so I can take a look in there. :)

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you!

Roof Leak

Hey everyone, Well this weekend we had a large rain storm and I woke up with a drip drip drip in our bedroom. We clearly have a roof leak. I am having someone out here to repair the roof (i think the leak is near the bathroom vent). My bigger question is, how concerned do I need to be over the leaki...

Re: Mysterious "Dripping" Sound

Yeah, we plan on re-leveling the home this summer. I took a peak under the home as well, no sign of any water leaks or anything else unusual. I will need more investigative work to find this noise coming from the bathroom.

I can't believe your story of the battery operated clock! Very funny.

Mysterious "Dripping" Sound

I say "dripping" because it sounds like a drippy faucet that drips in consistent beat. However, I am pretty sure it is not water.. It is happening in the master bath which is at the far end of the home. Depending where we stand in the master bath, the sound will stop all together, or slow ...

Ant Control Help

Hi Everyone, I have a 1991 ~1000sq ft Fairmont trailer in the Chicago, IL area. It is winter here and suddenly we are getting tiny ants coming out from little nooks and crannys - wall board seams, little gaps near the ceiling or floor, etc. We keep a clean place and it doesn't even seem like they ar...

Winterizing a Summer Mobile Home

Hi everyone, We have a seasonal mobile home that needs to be winterized every winter. We have no underbelly or heat tape to keep it from freezing. Does anyone have any tips or resources to help us with this? I have a compressor the attachments to hook it up to the main water line going into the trai...

Tub Drain Broke Off

Hi, I am wondering if someone can help me. We have a 91 Fairmont. I was about to take a shower the other day and noticed the circular edge of the tub drain was cracking off. One little touch and the rest of it broke off. I can see the sewage pipe now through the hole in the tub. We bought a drain wr...
