Hiding from tornado

So many of us are now aware of the messes that tornados can do Western/Central Kentucky just got walloped by a half dozen EF1- EF3's and not a pretty sight. (12-10-2021) My question now I've noticed many times when a tornado slammed a mfg home the home is demolished but the floor of the home is stil...

Re: Water line heat tape mess

Well this is what baffles me a bit more is that the belly is insulated but the water lines are between the ground and beneath the belly wrap. The main water line pokes up from the ground to the home and is only about 2 ft long then connects to the home, and why other then ease of installation of the...

Water line heat tape mess

Bought a 1996 Fleetwood this year here in south central Kentucky. Cool weather should start soon so I crawled under the house to see if it has a heat tape. It doesn't. Looks to me that the original water lines (white-ish PVC??) were replaced with red (for hot) and blue (cold) plastic type lines. Why...

Re: Laminate flooring, orientation, transitions and entrance

I've been holding back on this laminate topic trying to think of the best way to explain myself, not sure I'll succeed. I installed Armstrong oak laminate in 2009, wish I never did and if it wasn't for my time and expense I'd take it back out. It looks wonderful but geezus it is slippery stuff. As G...

Re: Replacing Coleman Furnace with Miller

Finally the job was completed today along with the alteration of the air flow intake some duct work needed to be replaced. Already I can feel the difference in the previous 2 cold rooms as there is only 1 degree difference between them and the rest of the home. All in all it became a $3900 task incl...

Re: Heater vents - tabs stretched out (opened)

For what its worth, if it isn't beyond your abilities pull your furnace and make sure the hole in the floor aligns with the bottom of the furnace itself. I had mobile home service here last Friday to replace my furnace and they show me another reason why my airflow was so weak. The gosh darn hole in...

Re: Replacing Coleman Furnace with Miller

Well I guess this explains the weak air flow I've had since moving into my Pinegrove mobile home. I just figured that the air flow from a mobile home furnace was lower then a regular stick built home. How the heck could something like this happen to miss the proper location for the duct hole in the ...

Re: Amana for Mfg Home?

Not familiar with Amana furnaces but I'm having the central air system which is an Amana removed when my new furnace is replaced this weekend. Never impressed with the performance of the unit. Also have several Amana window A/C units which after getting them home saw that they are made under license...

Replacing Coleman Furnace with Miller

Will be having my 77K BTU Coleman electric replaced with a 75K BTU Miller E3EB023H electric furnace on the first week of January. Also in the process will be having the Amana central air unit removed as its pretty much junk. Was quoted just under $2100 plus NYS tax, was that a fair market quote for ...
