Weed Barrier around mobile home
So I am almost done with our new underpinning from tin around our 52x24 doublewide. I used the tin for durability vs the vinyl. I am now looking for a way that would look nice, be low maintenance, and affordable to put a barrier say 3 to 4 foot out from the underpinning, maybe 2 foot out so there wo...

Re: Removing the seem strips on the walls
Yes you can fill the seams, however if you are in an area that freezes and you are not on below the frost line footers you may have cracking. The other problem is if you have textured vinyl wall board is that the seams will be smooth and the wall will be textured so you would need a textured paint ...

Removing the seem strips on the walls
I think I read somewhere that once those were gone, exposing the gap between the pieces of sheetrock that you could fill that gap. Seems like I read you could get paintable caulk, fill the gap and smooth it out flush with wall then paint without showing a seam. Does that or will that work or should ...

Re: Breaking up obnoxious high skirting
Metal panels (pole barn siding) can be ordered in about any color. For skirting they are long lasting & about bullet proof. Not too hard to install. Greg Yes I have thought of this. Guess I just do not like the thought of two big solid colors like this. Lot different compared to the bottom pic ...

Breaking up obnoxious high skirting
We are in the middle of remodeling. We are having vinyl siding put on and trying to decide on our skirting. Either way if we go with tin or vinyl we are about 4 to 5 foot above grade along the back. So basically we will have that 8 foot high wall with vinyl siding one color and then the skirting bei...

Re: Replacing wall studs and joist band
I'm about to embark on a similar project (caused by the same ignorant construction by a former owner). I will be watching! How much of the stud is rotted? Might be able to shim in pieces of 2x (if only a few inches rotted). All I know for sure right now is 3 inches or so. I just hate to pull off si...

Replacing wall studs and joist band
Need some ideas here. I recently found out that because my wifes ex-husband fastened deck to trailer with no flashing the joist band has rotted in places. No problem fixing that as I am over half way done. I noticed in some places that the bottom of the stud has rotted off. We are fixing to get new ...
