Re: 19 Year Old Double Wide Pit Set Problems

Hi, Welcome to the site. I am uncertain what you mean by "pit". Typically mobile homes are set up on a flat area. Blocked and leveled accordingly. They can even be set up on uneven ground with one end being higher than the other. Yet another option is a full basement...is this what you are...

Re: oil base or latex primer??

Hi CJ, I personally like a latex primer. It cleans up with water opposed to oil. Your wall panels are what we refer to as wall board. I have painted many with no problems, but as of late there has been a few problems with the primer/paint not adhering to the walls. I personally think the "cure&...

Re: Oh my gosh...am I in the right place??

Hi Barb! Long time no see. Hope all is well with you. The new format took place within the past 10 days. Not sure I care for it either, but you know how it goes, we hate change with age, LOL. Have you done anything more to your home as of late? Larry and I are still plugging along. I guess you could...

Re: Painting the walls

Hi, Congrats on your purchase..now the hard work begins! As for the tape removing the primer, did you let the primer cure the proper length of time before painting? Sometimes folks have had this issue and have had to use what is called a bonding primer. Check your can label and see if the word "...

Re: Looking for a post...

Hi MArk,

Appreciate your efforts, unfortunately this is not the info I remember reading in the orginal post. The member is in Canada and therefore things are named differently and they have different stores than us. But again, I appreciate the info.

Re: Who can I call?? Floor reinforcing..

Sounds like a plan, Greg gave what I consider minimum weight, I assume you have many decorative items in your tank as well, not to mention gravel. You are already looking at one ton plus in a small area. If you would post a pic when are set up. Please spare nothing when adding your blocking undernea...

Re: Who can I call?? Floor reinforcing..

Hi, I think I would do as Greg said but add a few more steps. Not having alot of info on your tank/home set up I can only offer some suggestions. Hopefully the tank stand is a base that the entire thing sits on the floor...not on legs. If on legs then you would want to put plywood under the whole ar...

Re: Joining porch roof to mobile home

Hi, To try and circumvent codes is going to cause you alot of grief, with the powers at be, your home owners insurance and the structural damage that your home may recieve. As posted above, your homes roof is not designed to carry that extra weight. Regardless of where you live all MH's have a tende...

Re: Insulating Skirting

This sounds like it is an HVAC issue. Heating Venting and Air Conditioning. I am not a tech but have some thoughts...I am going to move this to the HVAC forums and let our tech take a look and offer his advice. Please read the posting tips for that forum.

Thanks Yanita

Looking for a post...

Hey everyone. One of our members, CJ made a post awhile back about tsp, primer ect. Wanting to know which primer to use. Anyways he lives in Canada so he does not have the same stores we do. The last I had read on that particular post was someone gave him the name of a primer and the store to purcha...
