How to Remove Tub, Spout without Access Panel?

Removing everything from our guest bathroom, in order to replace subfloor. Every other source of water in the house has some kind of access to the plumbing, except this bath/shower. Only way to remove the faucet seems to be through the wall of the bedroom next to it.

Re: Pics uploaded; New Subfloor, Lots of Gaps=Problem?

Well, they've already cut out some strips of ply, think at this point they're gonna screw those to the ply subfloor (from underneath) and/or joists, in the areas the gaps are big, like the one pictured above, on the floor/outside walls.

Re: Pics uploaded; New Subfloor, Lots of Gaps=Problem?

Thanks Greg, you are right, our critters Seem to love that foam. The gaps are pretty decent sized to me, def big enough for pests and rodents. If I'm following you, we can just stuff thin strips of ply in those gaps? We'll need to attach them in Most places because there won't be anything to hold th...

Re: Plywood T&G Subfloor- Sm Gaps, Problem?

Here's another room along outside wall. We're on our own now, had to fire handyman, so my husband thinks just using expanding foam is fine here, I'm uncertain though, opinions please?

Re: Plywood T&G Subfloor- Sm Gaps, Problem?

This is just shows around one of the edges, but I guess it doesn't matter about the gap here, the particle board is even further from the wall. This is on the marriage line.

Thanks Greg, going to try upload attachment now so you can see the gaps:
Well never mind, it says all my pictures are too large and I can't figure out how to make them smaller.

Re: Plywood T&G Subfloor- Sm Gaps, Problem?

Thanks, that's what I was hoping! So gaps that I can see ground through can be stuffed with something, then leveling over the top of the whole thing? And does it look weird to have nice vinyl sheet, same pattern, thru the whole house? For example I often see a stone look in the kitchen and wood look...

Re: Plywood T&G Subfloor- Sm Gaps, Problem?

Forgot to add we had to fire our handyman, so we're currently diy-ing with a couple of helping hands. But handyman wasn't doing any better than us that's for sure

Pics uploaded; New Subfloor, Lots of Gaps=Problem?

I can't figure out how to post pictures, but the tongue & groove isn't all "tongue&grooving" as expected. Are the small gaps and spaces here & there a problem or is that kind of normal? Bottom will be very well sealed, and husband plans on using self leveling before we have vin...

Re: Replacing Subfloor Reveals Surprises

Well, it's a 2002 fleetwood 72x28. Had the new roof due to hurricane Ike, installed in 09. So is the soffit the part just under the slight shingle overhang, with little holes in it? We have that, and we do have roof vents too. Our house was damaged during a flood in March, and A few months later, I ...

Replacing Subfloor Reveals Surprises

So far, most of the living room and kitchen area have the old particle board removed, and new plywood is glued & screwed down. Biggest surprise so far was when they removed the fireplace & saw that the roof had been leaking around the chimney. Handyman got up on the roof & said that area...

Re: Replacing Floor Insulation-b/t joists or blanket?

Interesting update: discovered that our ins co may exclude or deny coverage for damages related to a "non-standard" installation of the floor insulation, as this could cause condensation to form in undesirable areas, and the ductwork radiates some amount of heat in the winter which helps t...

Re: Replacing Floor Insulation-b/t joists or blanket?

I agree. I was told today that their plan is to wrap all the pipes under the house in insulation. And the belly material will run under all that. I just think it's a really bad idea, even though we don't live in a colder climate, some of our unprotected pipes definitely freeze (pool pump, outdoor fa...

Replacing Floor Insulation-b/t joists or blanket?

"They" want to do it the easy way & put the new batt insulation in from the top as they replace the subfloor, which means above all pipes and ducts, and will leave about 1/4" space b/t ins & subfloor. "they" say well, you just can't do the blanket across the bottom, ...
