I have new shower valve installed. It is not the rough in style. It has the plate that says make sure this is flush with wall. I assume they are talking about with finished wall correct? Thanks for the response. When it comes to putting thinset underneath the pan is that to mostly to make it level? Or is it to keep it secure/from not moving? Shower Pan 1/8 off from being level...
How crucial is this? It is level length wise but when it comes to the width it is about 1/8 of an inch off. How critical is this when it comes to tiling etc? Ok Great Thank You. I will go ahead and put some thin set underneath the pan. The Pan seems very solid as is. But putting a little under wont hurt. My main concern was securing the base. ok so this is where I am now. I have got the drain aligned and walls torn out etc. I have the directions to install base. Nowhere does it really state on how to secure the the base. The floor is level so I do not really need to put the thin set underneath. Does anyone have any experience with this? ...

Ok great so remove wood paneling, check plumbing behind wall, install shower base and them put in the hardiebacker?
