Re: How do I handle the dents?

Here's the plan so please point out mistakes BEFORE I make them because after spending more than a few days on the roof a roof over is planned per your suggestion. The "j" rail gutters are totally functional for an arid, I mean arid as in no rain what-so-ever and I want to have 4 or 5 inch...

How do I handle the dents?

Upon removing the mesh I put on, the tar with black mesh, something yellowish that looks like "fix-all", aluminum "paint" over more tar someone else did and something else that I don't know what it is other than it is light yellow and not hard I have another "issue". Th...

Strapping on roof

I think I have the picture this time. I can understand the post about "maybe it's keeping the roof together" and that sort of makes sense in this picture but what would it be keeping together on the one that runs the other way? Humm, more thought is needed on this!

Pictures Too Large

I have 3 pictures of the straps I'm trying to figure out but each time I try to attach one I get a red note saying "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 256 KiB." I get this even when I made it a zip file. What gives? I'm sending it as an attachment in an email and see what happens...

Re: What is plumbers tape used for on the roof?

Yes, That's plumbers tape, at least that what I've know it as from the '50's. Hope fully the zips will come through...and judging from the red note it didn't. How do I get the file down to that size so I can show the pictures I took of it.

It is plumbers tape: thin and bends easy!

What is plumbers tape used for on the roof?

This past week has been spent scrapping the different products that have been used to seal the roof off and going back down to bare metal. Tar with mesh has been used around pipes, vents, completely across where the metal from the sloping part of the roof joins the flat part. I've been using a power ...

Restretching A Metal Roof

The manual says the "proper way" to deal with a metal roof that rattles is to re-stretch it however, it doesn't say how and I haven' been able to locate any information on how it's done. I don't feel secure enough to punch a bunch of holes while trying to find the rafters and given the cho...
