Re: Pilot going out

And I am also wondering - can I remove that little sleeve that goes over the end of the pilot gas tube with the screen in it and run without that screen or filter or what ever that is, or does that act similar to an orifice to slow the gas flow down ? Getting tired of lighting this pilot every morni...

Re: Pilot going out

It's been a while, sorry for the delay. So since I was last here, I pulled the burner assembly out and cleaned the pilot by removing the small gas pilot gas tube and blowing it out with compressed air, didn't seem to be any plugage in the tube. On the fire end of the tube, there was a small outer sl...

Re: Pilot going out

I opened everything inside the front covers, and while I've seen pictures of a light in the top cover to the right of the power switch, there is no light on mine. The link below has some images of the inside of my furnace and while you may be right about there being a control board, I just don't see...

Re: Pilot going out

I lit the heater this morning and watched carefully as I turned the setting from pilot to on. The burner came on to what must have been low setting for a few seconds, the went to a higher, or bigger flame. It's hard to tell but it looked like the pilot might have went out when the burner went to a f...

Re: Pilot going out

I lit the pilot this morning and turned the heater on but the burner would not light. Pilot stayed on, nice blue flame with a little orange at the tip, no dancing around. When I would run the T-stat above the ambient temperature the gas valve would click. Same thing when I would run the T-stat below...

Re: Pilot going out

Since the roof jack was kind of bent up on the outer 8" pipe I'm suspecting that might be the cause, starving for air. Can a bent up roof jack cause this kind of problem ?

Pilot going out

I just installed a 7956C856 furnace today. got it running and it does a good job of heating but the pilot goes out at the end of every cycle. The pilot is blue. It's kind of hard to tell but the burner looks like the flame goes horizontally front to back, and it has more yellow in it than I usually ...

Re: chimney size question

Got the heater changed out today, finally. Still on it's first cycle right now but is heating good. I re-used my old chimney. The center pipe was still round and in good shape and fit good and snug on the exhaust riser on the heater. The outer pipe was a little bent out of round - was already that w...

chimney size question

Replacing a 7610-859 with a 7956C856. Will my old chimney / exhaust pipe work on the new heater ? The vent gas outlet size looks about 5 inches on both and the bigger fresh air inlet size looks about 8 inches on both. Planning on doing this today and hoping I can reuse the chimney / roof jack and no...

Re: 7956C856 Heater only wiring

Thanks Greg but it looks like that link does everything but download a manual. It looks like there's a pretty good wiring schematic on the heater itself so I'll use that.

7956C856 Heater only wiring

So I have a 7956C856 coleman heater-only that I want to replace my old coleman heater with, a model 7610 series 859. The old one is rated at 56k btu output, the newer one at 46k btu. There is heavy gauge red and white wires that look like the 120v power wires, but I don't see any place to hook the t...

Replacing a model 7610 series 859 with a 7956C856

Hello all, I am new here, my first post. My MH has a Coleman heater only model 7610 series 859 that is very old, and I am having problems with, namely every time it comes on, there is a very hot smell, almost like something burning coming out the air registers, so we quit using it last winter. My so...
