At a bare minimum, you can use a figure of 20 BTUs per hour per square foot and multiply this by the total square footage to be heated or cooled, but this does not take into account climate, the amount of insulation you have, or the way you live. So 20 X 840 = 16,800. Even at 30 BTU per square foot ...

1998 Fairmont home

Looking for the plastic inserts that have the springs in it for the cabinet doors. The plastic piece is 3/4" long by 1/4" wide the spring is 3/8" long 1/8" wide.

I said screw it, went this route. Now if it ever breaks again at least I can get parts with out being bent over. At $19.95 shipping and $7 for the repair kit that would be penny smart dollar foolish.

Furnace dampers

I know the damper needs to be open in the winter to the windows don't freeze up, but should it be open in the summer when the air is on? Any benefits of leaving it open or turning it off to keep it closed.

Follow the wires, they usually go to one main box. I looked at the pictures and don't see one.

It has to have one. Usually in an enclosure mounted to the furnace cabinet.

I spent a lot of time comparing the DGAA77 service manual to mine. Where mine says code, yours says item. Based on the way I was originally thinking the intermittent code 5 should refer to the control board #031-01932-000. Fleabay has a good used one listed for $40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Source-1-C...
