Re: coleman furnace replacement 77,00 for 56,000 btu

At a bare minimum, you can use a figure of 20 BTUs per hour per square foot and multiply this by the total square footage to be heated or cooled, but this does not take into account climate, the amount of insulation you have, or the way you live. I said screw it, went this route. Now if it ever breaks again at least I can get parts with out being bent over. At $19.95 shipping and $7 for the repair kit that would be penny smart dollar foolish.

It's a anti-siphon style the vacuum breaker blew out. Nothing out there seems to fit, too big for replacing the innards and cap. I can get a replacement, from china but with the kit and shipping and handling almost $27. I can buy and replace the whole fixture with tail pipe for about half that and n...

Furnace dampers

I know the damper needs to be open in the winter to the windows don't freeze up, but should it be open in the summer when the air is on? Any benefits of leaving it open or turning it off to keep it closed.

The terminals should be labeled 1/2/3/4 ect I just pulled terminal by terminal and matched the number to the color. It ended up the relay wasn't the problem so I put the old one back in. http://www.google.com/url?s...

Follow the wires, they usually go to one main box. I looked at the pictures and don't see one.

Re: DGAA77

I spent a lot of time comparing the DGAA77 service manual to mine. Where mine says code, yours says item. Based on the way I was originally thinking the intermittent code 5 should refer to the control board #031-01932-000. Fleabay has a good used one listed for $40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Source-1-C...
