Re: porch pushing into house

Re: roof leaking around vents

after you do what jd says to do, you can get some peel and seal to further secure the vent to the roof. I used this on a vent pipe that was leaking , with cracks all around the flashing of the vent. it was a mess, of course i should have replaced it properly, but i didnt, and i just sealed it up wit...

(see photo links at bottom) there are 2 posts on the part that is next to house......one on each side......then on the other end there are 3 posts. it is leaning to the right and shifting to the back.....the poles are all a...

Re: Water under mobile home

whoa, thats a lot of water. you have to figure out where its coming from. is it flowing in from a low spot in the yard next to the home, or is it funneling in from the roof /gutters and spilling into the underneath of your home. putting dirt around the perimeter is tricky. you build a wall hoping to...

where is this air coming from

I replaced my old clothes dryer hose and when I pulled it out of the hole in the floor, a strong gust of continuous cold air came up from the hole. the air conditioner (with the metal grill door in front) is right next to it and the air was running at the time. i've read that the main connection can...

Re: Skirting Vents?

Norm Frechette I have the exact type of skirting, and those things are tough as nails. of course they aren't resistant to weed eaters but they are easy to repair with the thick white tape or use a piece from of an extra panel of siding and glue it straight over the hole from the back. ive had them s...

Re: Installing New Waterlines

I think this is a great idea. leaks can be devastating on a mobile home, especially the slow ones that go unnoticed for way too long. I'm curious to know what the price would be to replace all the lines including the shut off valves for a home with 2 full baths, kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine,...

Re: floor register in bathroom problem

I put a camera down this register into the duct and this is what it looks like on the ends......looks like whoever constructed the thing apparently wasn't too concerned about sealing it up, or even closing it. the other two registers at the ends of the house are the same. one of them even worse. . i...

Re: yellowing tubs and sinks help..

are you sure that its plastic and not fiberglass or acrylic ? there are tub refinishing kits http://homeguides.sfgate.com/painting-surrounding-acrylic-tub-34971.html you have to sand the tub really well. also you can use oxalic acid (barkeepers friend cleaner) mixed with the mr clean with amonia. th...

I think all members who diy in their crawlspace should read this. at least the ones who have no earthly idea what they are doing. which is probably over 75% (gotta add the lurkers).

floor register in bathroom problem

all of the a/c / heater registers in the house are connected, when i look down them with a mirror, there is a long duct running to the next register. except for the smaller bathroom .....this one came disconnected from the thing on the floor, it fell down. and it does not seem to be connected to all...
