Re: How do I drain / flush this water heater??

Gotcha.. Yeah, didn't think to try it earlier but I did an image search and yep, guess thats a cheap valve that manufacturers put on that almost always needs to be replaced. - Wonderful...

Thanks for the heads up on the venting.

How do I drain / flush this water heater??

Got the hose setup, screwed it on the drain fitting and ..... um.... wheres the valve? IMAG0178.jpg Popping the hose back off and looking into the hole I'm guessing maybe this is some sort of flow restrictor adapter? - If so, whats it called and where do I find a proper fitting to at least drain the...

Evcon Presidential 7970-C856 - 3 questions..

1) - Are the filters supposed to be in the upper and lower door panels that just lift off the face of the unit? - I've looked and looked on the unit itself and then looked online and couldn't find anything except this: http://americanhvacparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=...

Truss center for mid 90's midwest (snow belt) models?

Do they range quite a bit by manufacturer or is (was) there a standard that was adhered to?

I love how a simple thing like hanging a pot rack turns into a big learning experience...

Re: Poly -> PVC -> Poly with sharkbites

Yes, its going in the home as I would have to crawl under the home to replace the filters every 2-3 months most likely. (We have VERY heavy sediment at times, the water runs nearly as dark as strong brewed tea..) The sharkbite adapters I used to replace the lines for the washing machine (which were ...

Poly -> PVC -> Poly with sharkbites

Hey guys, thanks for all your tips / suggestions in the past! :D I have another one that I hope is pretty easy... Can I use sharkbite adapters to go from poly to PVC and back? - I've used them for going from poly to pex just fine but I don't know how well they work out going to PVC.... Hoping to put...

RE: Insulated cross-over flex duct

Thanks Robert and sorry about replying to that A/C thread a while back. - Didn't realize it was a moderated forum that way.. It took me a minute to picture what you meant but I think I understand now.. - I was in the frame of mind to just replace the small section a critter tore out but from what yo...

Insulated cross-over flex duct

The home I bought had been sitting empty for a few years and the skirting is in need of replacement. - From that, a critter apparently ripped into the flex duct directly under the furnace. The only duct I've had the pleasure of working on until now was rigid, boxed stuff for stick-built homes. Is in...

RE: $$$ for clunker appliances

Add to that, the clunkers they took in were permanently destroyed meaning that they couldn't be put into salvage, driving up parts costs to those who keep their almost-clunkers going with used parts... Dumb, dumb, dumb program. IMO: The feds need to go back to protecting our borders and let states b...

Creepers?

At nearly 40 yrs old and 6'2" / 250lbs, shimmying around under a mobile home (especially in crappy weather) just plain sucks. Does anyone know of a good source for a creeper that would work well under a mobile home? Auto creepers usually have thin wheels that work great on smooth concrete floor...

Combination pex crimpers // Pex washing machine valves

I mistakenly thought the wonderful grey flex pipe I had in my "new" (used) home was Pex only to learn that no, my usual luck is still holding firm and its Polyb. (Which is why I am now as nervous as a rooster in an axe factory whenever I'm away from home..) What I'm wondering is, the combi...
