Re: RE: Need a Layout for Novalis Flooring

You start the first row with a full plank, then the nest row you start with a 1/2 plank. So the first plank in the first row would be 36" and the next row would start with an 18" plank. Except I would suggest going 36", 24" and then 12". This will stagger the seams even mor...

RE: Metal Roof

most tin comes in 3' widths, which wont work with you roof joists that are on 16" centers. You want your fasteners do go down through the existing plywood and bite into the roof joists. If you cant find tin roofing that will work with a 16" center (ie: 32 or 48" widths) then you need ...

alright, well you said 22' deep, and the trailer youre buying is 20' wide. Imagine taking a 16' length of the trailer roof and turning it sideways at a 90 degree, perpendicular angle to the trailer....as if you looked directly down onto the top of the house the ridge of the roof would look like a ca...

from my local retailers, 1/2" is cheaper than 3/8's. I wouldnt suggest 3/8s anyways. If you think you want to go with 5/8s then get a fire rated product. Fire rated 5/8s will give you a "1hour burn" rating. Its also much more expensive than 1/2". I would go with 1/2", I woul...

RE: Need help "Affixing" mobile to my land

I could always look into adding a partial basement/strip footing combo. I have a 1973 14x66 with a bubble top tin roof on a city lot, between two brand new houses across the street from a busy restaurant in a small town. I dont think Id be able to dig a full basement, that would mean the trailer wou...

RE: Need help "Affixing" mobile to my land

cant raise it tho.... A steel screw pile is considered permanent here...except I cant get under it to screw em in 10' deep. Its starting to sound like my best bet is a 4'deep footing that spans perpendicular across the trailer with steel piles bolted on top for the chassis to be welded/bolted to. Im...
